Just received my new P210 target. Got a great price from Grab a Gun .com. Gun arrived in perfect condition with 2 mags.

This morning I went to the range and on magazine #3 the FRONT SIGHT FLEW OFF the gun. This is a dovetailed sight.

Fortunately it fell on the bench right in front of me.

Great SIG quality, the front sight guy is a new and untrained employee?

Maser Blaster, sad about your range event. However, waiting anxiously for a range report (full pictured.)
Hope you can reach SIG and fix the issue.

I had the same thing happen to my new Colt Special Combat Government, that cost a lot more than my American SIG 210. Maybe SIG hired the Colt Custom Shop sight guy;) Unfortunately, couldn't find my front sight...

My 1998 manufactured Colt Gold Cup, lost its front sight at 300 rounds. It was the old post type which was staked through a hole in the slide. I was able to restake It myself. 10,000 + rounds and 20 years later it's still solid.

In the case of my p210, I can slide the sight through the dovetail cut from right to left with finger pressure. Not sure if it's the sight or the slide that is out of spec. Hopefully the sight.

Send it back to Sig and make them fix it right. Either the dovetail cut is over-sized or the front sight is out-of-spec. Sigs problem...not yours.

Be interested in Sig's response and customer service in dealing with this matter.

I had that happen on a new P226 Dark Elite I bought, first range trip.......
I called Sig and they suggested I red loctite it in, I suggested (strongly) they fix it with out red loctite.
Sig sent me a label and payed shipping both ways. Don't recall exactly how long but I seem to remember about two weeks from the time I sent it in until I had it back.

I would give Sig a call.

I wonder how many sights fall out from Swiss or German made P210s.

I'd stake it with Rock Set also applied AFTER I sighted in to keep the rear sight centered as much as possible But it should go back to Sig first so they can know about the issue .

My Sig P210 Target was the most unreliable pistol I've every bought. Sig did fix it but I sold it, the huge target grips didn't agree with me either.

Paul7, please could you give us some words on your experience with Sig P210. No bashing intention, since is steel has a magnetic attraction on me hard to pass.

I was getting about a 50% misfire rate, apparently it was delivered to me with a missing part, don't recall what it was, this was a few years ago when they first came out. When it finally was running I didn't find it markedly more accurate than some other 9mms I've shot, and as I said the target grips were too big for me. You may have a completely different experience.

Paul7 same here I've found the wooden grip too bulky. I need to handle the regulars one, accuracy might vary with several factors, anyway glad Sig fix it for you.

I've never handled the regular grips either.

Off topic, but my dream grips are the Nils on my 1967 Korth .22, man are those nice.

Every single company has the rare lemon from time to time. I comes with the territory of building complex mechanical devices (firearms).

Have you even TRIED to let SIG make it right?

If this is directed at my lemon P210, go back and read the thread, I said Sig fixed it already.

I agree with others... contact SIG and have them fix it. I bought a brand new P365 and when I got it home, I noticed that part of the slide in the rear was not fully finished (speckled with the finishing). SIG had me send in the slide and in less than two weeks, I had a properly finished slide; I paid nothing as they owned the defect and sent a prepaid label. Not defending SIG as I think that loose sights and unfinished slides are things that a quick QC inspection would catch. However, SIG made it right. I wonder how many guns SIG sells and how many have issues... it seems like SIGs sell like crazy.

I suspect the tech knew the minute he installed the sight that it was a sloppy fit. But he probably had no other choice but to send the pistol down the line. That's the difference in craftsmanship between Exeter, NH and Switzerland. Would I buy an American made P210? Absolutely. But I already own 9 Sigs.

Jeez.

That shouldn't have happened...

"...maybe he'll have custom fenestrations cut into the slide and RMR it, so we'll take the chance that he wouldn't even care."

That's where I'd put the new and untrained employee. :p

Gotta put in your time in before we allow you coffee and donuts in the employees' lounge, bro...

...much less teach you how to custom fit triggers and slides!
