I've not had any parts break or fall off my American SIG, but agree the target grips are a bit much. I replaced mine with some more service style Walnut grips from Hogue.
So I found the sight is snug when pushed into place.
I cleaned and added a small drop of loctite 262. Let it sit overnight. Yesterday I fired 100 rounds and the sight didn't budge. So good for now as I may put a different front sight on anyway.
Next time, use Loctite 620. It's high strength and high temperature. That makes it better resistant from the heat of the barrel. It's what Dawson Precision uses on their sights.
