So I've been shopping for a shotgun for the past few weeks, and was ready to lay down some cash for a new gun until I came across Texas Colt's ad in the classifieds here on THR, and wouldn't you know it, he was just down the way from me to boot. So I'm the new owner of his old 1300 (I borrowed his picture too). I've already got an assortment of ammo ready to go, so I'm all ready to BA/UU/R :)

I'm happy with the gun, and all my research tells me I won't be disappointed either. Looking forward to putting down the water-filled milk jug invasion soon :D

With the famous Rotary Bolt no less - interesting design and incredibly fast recycle for a pump!

With the capability of firing three shots in a mere .56 seconds, the Model 1300 Speed Pump™ is one of the fastest operating slide-action shotguns around. Granted, you may never need to shoot this fast, but you can rest assured knowing your Model 1300 has follow-up shot speed you’ll notice and appreciate. Inertia-assisted pumping is the reason behind the uncanny speed of the action and is the product of the strong rotary bolt design Winchester® Speed Pump shotguns are noted for.

I picked up a 1300 20 Ga. on the "bargain shelf" at one of the local Gander Mountains here locally a few years back. Was in pretty poor shape and the price reflected it, but was complete, right down to the three interchangeable chokes. Picked it up as a hobby gun 'cause I had a lot of leftover ammo from when my son had a Rem. Youth 20 Ga., and also thought it would be a fun hobby/restorable gun. Got it for $150 - put about $25 and many hours of time into it, and now it's absolutely beautiful - bluing, wood & all! The action on that thing defines the word "silk" I swear! I'll probably keep it for a lifetime...
