I found this on one of my recent weekly pawn shops rounds.
It wasn’t out yet, 3 days before it could go on display. But because I’m a frequent buyer, and the owners son knows my weakness for Ruger MKI & MKII and pre-lock S&W revolvers, I got a preview.
I’ve been looking for one for quite a while to go with the MKII blued 10 inch I scored at the same pawn shop a few months ago. I wasn’t able to negotiate down much but settled on $325, not a bad price, but I always like to haggle. The scope base is worth at least $30, and it had an Uncle Mikes holster (that didn't fit) so I feel I did pretty good on the price.
It was REALLY dirty inside I think the worst I've ever seen or cleaned. Had old dried oil, looked like varnish, and new oil all mixed together. It's been shot for sure, and has minor cosmetic wear and marks but nothing abused.
Got it home and all cleaned up, sure took a while, and everything functioned ok. I noticed that the bolt stop thumb piece has some wear where it contacts the bolt on lock back. The bolt also has some wear on the bolt contact area where it engages the stop. I think a little adjustment of the thumb piece will resolve the engagement problem.
