I live down the street from them in Golden so I do drop in there one in a while. I usually swap between a Benchmade Rift and a Spyderco Native but always leaned toward Benchmade. Spyderco held their annual second's sale today and the other half had to go run errands so I ran off to the sale. The things they throw out would require major attention to detail to catch. It impressed me that blemishes I would have dismissed were caught and pulled out of the production run. Any knicks, marks or blemishes where thrown out no matter how small. After poking around through boxes and trays of seconds I picked up several Natives and some older kneck knives and could pass any of them off as perfect. One had too much blade movement side to side (barely noticable) so I used a punch on the pivot and now it's perfect. Another had a little knick in the serrations and they tossed it out. Few minutes on the stone and now I have another Christmas present to give away. If you live in the area or can get here next year plan to be early and you won't be disappointed. The other great things is the timing is perfect for Christmas!

I can't get over how utilitarian the S30V Native is - what a bargain in a knife. I have some BMs I paid a lot more for - super knives - but that Native is a hard act to follow. Oddly, it has opened many a knife package when it arrived here. The S30V is straight forward to re-sharpen on their Sharpmaker - just takes a bit of time.
