New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg on CBS

I would think a recall election would be in order, for demonstrated mental deficiency. His statements indicate a clear divorce from reality.

I think we should ban private swimming pools as well. Owning your own swimming pool gets you more than 22 times liikely of drowning. I blame the people who voted this guy in. .

Yeah, unless he changes the election laws again to run for another term. I would not be surprised.

If you repeat something often enough, it becomes the "truth". Brainwashing at its simplest.
Yeah. Just look at how everyone thinks of New York.

True, there is a city called New York, but attached to the city is the little part called the rest of the state. In comparison to to NYC the rest of the state is a gun owners paradise.

Bloomberg is a typical mega-rich left wing "progressive" hypocrite. He is constantly surrounded by heavily armed bodyguards to protect him and his family, yet he tells us worker peasants and serfs to never protect ourselves against vicious criminals. And he crusades for laws to disarm us (but not his heavily armed bodyguards).

Nothing but a raving hypocrite!

L.W.

Bloomberg is nothing but a idiot, if i never heard his name mention again that would be fine with me.

"Let me find the gun, where'd I put the ammunition, where'd i put the key?"- Bloomberg

Um... In a free society I don't have to worry about this. Even with having to lock up a firearm at night due to kids, it takes maybe 15 to 30 seconds max to get to my firearm.

I'll take my chances rather than lay down and give in to whoever may want to harm my wife and myself. Thank you

O.K. you (sort of) have a point. So now lets compare conditions in New York State vs. those in Arizona when it comes to gun laws... :uhoh:

The difference is the reason I would never consider living in New York - city or state. I also have a good friend that used to live in western New York who doesn't now - for the same reason I don't.

This isn't a case of New York bashing, it's a simple stating of facts.

Bloomberg frothing at the mouth is hardly newsworthy. I wonder if the power-hungry Putin-wannabe will try to snag himself a fourth term?

Yes, the gun laws are still draconian in New York State, but that is not unusual in much of the northeast.

Lets compare the amount of Atlantic shoreline Iowa has vs Florida...

Also, contrary to popular opinion, Bloomburg isn't the Governor of New York. He's the mayor of the city with the same name. And while he can flaunt his money and fame, and go on anti-gun triads, bother us (Virginia), thats all the power he has. A mayor. He'll be gone next term.

Realistically, and no offense to the mods here, but Bloomburg seems to be the stereotypical "Forum Moderator" type personality. Where you give a guy a LITTLE bit of power and they go 'trucking nuts with it. (Again, the mods here do a GREAT job, but I've been on some forums where the mods flaunt their "power" all over the place. "I'm a mod I'll ban you if you do that again... etc")

Yet he still manages to <deleted> the entire state up....

I really cannot stand Bloomberg and I refuse to watch his news network. Matter of fact I have it blocked on my DVRs so no one in the house could actually accidentally watch it.

The guy is a total schmuck.

Or for that matter how much Atlantic (or Pacific) shoreline Arizona has to offer. :neener:

But shoreline has nothing to do with New York State's firearms statutes, while the political make-up of the Legislature and Governor's Office being dominated by New York City and surounding area does.

My point was that the State's laws may be better then those in the Big Apple, but not a whole lot, and if you don't understand the difference between New York and Arizona, come out for a visit and we'll show you.

P5 Guy, that is genuinely disturbing.
tyeo098, that's a genuine invitation. I understand you can't have military style rifles up there with standard capacity magazines? I may be wrong, of course, but you can put some rounds thorugh either one of my vz-58s if you come down, 7.62x39mm or 5.56mm whichever you like, and if you bring a sidearm, you can carry it concealed as a law abiding US citizen or legal resident, as long as you're not a prohibited possessor. I have a great free city maintained range a few miles away I'd love to show you.

1) Draw 2) Assess 3) Act. - Me.

We can have ar's and ak's and all that but we have to follow the 1994 AWB guidlines on them (no flash hider, no bayo lug, no collapsible stock) and we are limited to 10 round magazines unless they are preban

the majority of NY seems to be brainwashed into thinking guns are to dangerous to be used by civilians.. and not just those in NYC I live in western NY and was recently told by one of my cousins "I don't think shooting guns for fun is a good idea... its far to dangerous" I tried to educate her but wasn't very successful... mainly because I have no patience for ignorance
