New York hunters

I have a completed 80% lower just waiting to get the extra cash to complete the lower and buy an upper.

I had plugs & wires done onbthe truck and there is something going on starting it. When you shut it off it will not start. Let it sit for a few hours it will start.
When it is hot you turn the key and there is nothing, not even a click.
By the time I get it all done it will be 400 or more. I was go to buy airline tickets this week but that won't happen.

Pat is there a parts store near you that will test parts, if so pull starter and have it tested. Another thing is the crank sensor. Does it quit when hot then not start? A small crack will make it act up. Also check starter relay by switching it with a different one, usually there are a couple that ate the same in your fuse box.

Edit to add clean up starter and battery connections.

I take the car & trucks over to a guy that has a little private garage. I quit doing car & truck repairs about ten years ago. His rates are readonable and i can run the car or truck over there seven days a week.
If I had to take it to a regular car shop it would probably be 4 or 5 times more expensive.
This delayed my airline tickets a few weeks.

Did you & Troy get your deer licenses yet? I think the doe tags will be going fast. I got one for 7S.
Jim has two doe tags for different management units.

I picked up a 223 Remington 788 and a 25/05 Ruger 77 to use for the up comeing deer season.
I put scopes on them and sighted them in a few months ago.
I got different scopes to put on them and loaded up some ammo to get them on paper.
Now I can load up some different loads to see what I want to use in them.
Any suggestion on bullets?
I did pick up some Partitions for the 223 and I picked up a box of soft points for the 25/06.
I will pick up some more bullets here shortly.

I picked up some 65 gr sie gamekings at midsouth shooters supply. I did 2 load work ups for 2 different rifles. I haven't been able to shoot, too hot and too busy at work. If you can find them 64 gr win deer season xp looks real good ballisticly, retains 1k energy at 200.

If you come up for deer season we will have to hit the car muesum in Norwich. That place has many one of and two of cars. The building looks decieving. But they bought a bunch of other buildings next to them and behind them and connected them all together.
That is one fantastic tour.
I went to a few car show/ auto parts flea markets in Norwich some years back, fantastic events. Huge grounds, nice variety of cars, lots of good deals.

I was surprised by how big the events were in a relatively small town.

Still waiting for my hunting license to come in the mail.
You guys pick.your hunting licenses up you?

There are a few ny members here and some others who will be visiting ny to hunt this season. Some of us were having some good conversations in a different thread I this is so we can avoid hijacking that thread.

So since bow/ xbow is about over and regular season starts on the 16th in the southern zone. The northern zone started a few days back.

Some of us have talked about where they hunt, kinda like to make this like a campfire talk. I never went to deer camp but always wanted to go. So what's your hunting story's and how you spend your deer season.

Anyone is welcome to add story's this is just so we can talk.
Any NY hunters have a Crossbow I can borrow for archery season? I’m dealing with some shoulder issues that might not be fully healed by October making it so I can’t use my compound.

Wish I could, was going to get one ago, but life didn't allow it to happen. I sympathize have shoulder issues myself can't draw my compound bow either.

I picked one up a few years ago, it needs a new string and bolts. I could mail it back there and when you are through with it you can meet up with my brother to give it to him. If the bow place is open I will check on the bow string and bolts. .

Troy what did your dad pay for that 30/40 craig?
That's a nice rifle there.
