New York hunters

The ones I use are 10 to 15 percent down and payments weekly. As long as you keep up payments on a regular basis there's no prob ok em.

Gun shops here hate buds for some reason, most won't let you do a transfer with them. I think there bitter at them because so many people were buying guns a few years back from buds and not the shops.

They’re probably tired of hearing “But Bud’s sells it for this price…”.

Bud’s sells so many guns they probably get a much better price from distributors, or maybe factories themselves, than small local stores, who then can’t compete with them on price.

I use to buy from Bud's alot because with all added cost plus the sales tax it was always cheaper then the base price locally.
It's all about money sometimes.

I know guys will say support the local.guy, but the largest privately owned local guy here is a scalper.
When they got primers they sold them for close to $100.
The other stores sold the primers for close to $40 when they got them.
22lr announced they were selling 500 rounds or Remington for $79.99
The other stores sold them at the $40 range.

I forget to post the gun I had on layaway here, shot it the other day and it did fine. Nothing scientific just shooting at a cardboard box like 6" x 9" at 50 yards shooting of the beam on the barn. About 2-3 inches high but all on the box. Maybe I'll shoot a deer with it this season, I'll definitely take it out some, plenty of time before any parts show up when I do order them.

Mason is getting excited on our trip back there.
Jim want to spend Saturday night and Sunday night up to Old Forge. I wanted to only stay up there Saturday night.
A lost day of squirrel hunting and we have a bunch of traps to get ready for coyote, fox & Fisher trapping.

What caliber is that rifle, there is a guy out here that buys a lot of that type of guns.
I did buy that Argentine Mauser that was rechambered for 308, the only reason I picked it up is I have a butt load of 308 brass and a couple sets of dies.

I was thinking of sending my Remington 788 in 243 back there for this years deer season.
I don't need it here.

On the way from Syracuse to Old Forge we will be stopping by the Walmart and Bass Pro up in Utica to pick up a few things.

It's a 3006 now it was 7.65x53 a wonderful cartridge. I got it to make a custom rifle but will take a long time to save up and wait on parts are very long.

small game up there sounds fun, don't know if I'd bring a 22 or my sxs, I'd have to load Some shells for the sxs tho. Depends how many leaves are on the trees.
It's always nice to stop at bass pro.

The Buffalo's Head restaurant opened back up under new management, so on Saturday we will be going up to Inlet then book the hotel in Old Forge and then go to Forestport for prime rib dinner.

There is a neat little junk shop with a small gun department in Old Forge that we always store at. I always stop by the Old Forge hardware store for a calendar and something for the grandkids.

Then I pick up a calendar at the store over in South Otselic when we go hunting over that way.

Will the DEC advocate on my behalf if I shoot
a deer and it runs on to land owned by anti-hunters?

I haven’t shot one yet this year but I’m just curious.

Think you need permission in ny, maybe you could get it with dec help. I let my lifetime buck because it rolled down a hill and the owner of the land it stoped on said not. That was a 200-210 inche deer.

We took Mason out squirrel hunting early this morning over in Greene New York. He ended up with four gray squirrels.
He was useing a old Ithaca model 66 - 20 gauge shotgun.
Lever break open.

Probably should of got it mounted for him.

This afternoon we went hunting over in Afton and seen a bunch of chipmunks, not one squirrel over there.
We did see a nice big doe with a yearling.then on the way back to my brother's place a yearling ran out in front of his car, just about clipped it.

Nice, the weather was crazy today. The brown maybe a color Phase about to turn black. I had a true albino squirrel cross the road in front of me about 3 years ago, I've never seen a true albino. If I had a fun that day I could have gotten it, was down a old gravel road to.

I am going to see how much it will cost to get the hide tanned.
If they can mount it I might get it mounted.
I'll see this week.
I cut it up the belly from azz to neck.

Saw this clean looking guy in my neighborhood.

Didn’t get close enough to see its eyes.

I think my neighbors would have a cerebral hemorrhage if I shot a squirrel on their front lawn. Then try to have me indicted. lol
Need to do some urban squirrel fishing. Tie a fishing hook to a walnut, do when the squirrel cheeks the walnut set the hook lol.

funny t hats completely fine to do to fish but messed up if done to land animals or birds.
