The first .357 magnum I bought was a Taurus Model 66, with 6" barrel, blued finish, 7-shot (which is good).

Since then I have bought a Ruger SP101 .357 and GP100 .357 with 4" barrell (SS) (both used, VG cond).

I really like the Rugers. No problem with the Taurus either.

I'd like a Ruger .357 6" in SS, can't really afford one right now- however if I trade the Taurus or sell it, the cost of the Ruger will be defrayed and I could swing it.

So, send me money.......................................er, uh- I mean what is your opinion- go for the Ruger or hold onto the Taurus.:)

If you're happy with the Taurus, keep it and just take a little longer saving up for the Ruger. But if you really want the Ruger, then I'd trade in the Taurus.

From what I understand, Taurus' don't hold their value, so it might be better for you to keep it.

dude always recomends to get what you want.......a warning though, you already have three .357s (like me) and are now a revolver nut (like me).

since you are not thrilled enough with the Taurus it seems, dump it for what you want. dude recomends getting a used Dan Wesson for your 6" needs (and 2, 4 all with the same pistol) and although cheaper, it will open you up to a whole new relm of 'nuttyness'!

Good God man! you need a .44Mag anyways!!

Dear 2....

Just my two cents worth, but the last time I sold/traded one of my guns, I underwent terrible trauma - withdrawl, whatever - and I resolved to never do that again. I haven't. I get "new" ones (new and used), but I've never since given up one of my "children".

Get the Ruger; keep the Taurus. You'll never be sorry. ;)

Have you had a chance to shoot the Ruger? I'd say get the Ruger if it's at least as nice a shooter as the Taurus.

Just how accurate is your Taurus? Does it have problems? Do you like it? Just a few questions you need to ask yourself before letting it go.

Well it is accurate, haven't had any problems with it, it's light, and yes I guess I do like it.

So now I think I'll keep it- and buy a Ruger!(soon as I can) Thanks.:D
