Alrighty then
Started off this thread with my "needs" at the top of my list - so now here's the bottom of the list - my wants-but-don't- 'need' (was gonna start a separate thread on this subject, but what the hey, it goes here better than starting a new thread):
[note: some of these choices are not true wants, but 'theoretical' choices if I had to pare down the numbers of firearms, or if certain or all firearms are banned, as described]
1. Theoretical: One rifle for all purposes: DSA FAL .308, 21" med. cont. bbl.
2. Theoretical: One handgun for all purposes: HK USP full-sized .45 (second choice STI double stack full-sized .45)
3. Theoretical: One turnbolt rifle for all purposes: Steyr Scout .308 Win
4. Vehicle Carry Rifle: Kel-Tec SU16 (redundant because it's on need list now)
5. If firearms are banned; game-getter: Beeman Super 12 pre-charged pneumatic, .22 pellet.
6. If firearms are banned; self-defense: RWS Career 707 pre-charged pneumatic, 9mm 50 gr pellet (1,000 fps claimed vel)
7. Rem model 7 in .260 Rem or 7mm-08 - all-purpose hunter
8. Handgun/Carbine combo (using same ammo) #1 (smallbore): M1 Carbine, converted to 5.7mm Johnson Spitfire, and Taurus Raging Hornet, converted to 5.7 Johnson (using moon clips from Raging Thirty).
9. Handgun/Carbine combo (using same ammo) #2 (largebore): Puma Lever Action .45 LC / .454 Casull, and Dan Wesson revolver .45 LC / .454 Casull
10. Cooper of Montana rifle, 21 action, Varminter Extreme model, 6mm PPC - benchrest/ultimate accuracy.
11. Rifle in .17 Rem or .22-250 - Varminter
12. 1917 Enfield, converted to .338/'06 or .35 Whelen - big game
13. Marlin Guide Gun in .45-70 or .450 Marlin - proverbial "Grizzly Gun" / all-purpose bigbore.
14. Many more milsurps - 98K, on and on.
15. Some more pistols - Walther P99, HKP7M8, Sig 239, etc.
16. A Muzzleloader
17. A crossbow
18. HK MP5, and I could go on if I want to get way unrealistic.
That's about it for now...
I like JeepDriver's list - see, it's longer than mine - I'm not the nuttiest one here.
One more thing: If I can afford the Barrett M82, then I should also be able to afford the most beautiful machine I've ever seen, the American Chopper Black Widow bike.
