Last week I put money down on a new SIG X5 "entry" which after some research wasn't what I wanted...I went to the LGS to take the gun off of layaway, and they had this used X5 L1 9mm in the case.

The price was right, and all-in-all I saved myself about $1100 compared to a new one :)

Anyone got an X5 here? I'm going to use it at the local plate shoots this spring

I picked up a Allround a little while ago at a killer price.

Nice! Did you alter the slide release lever? Those Nil grips are very nice, ay?

Beautiful pistols. Picked up a used X-5 Competition for a great price recently--same as the L1 but with a non-adjustable trigger and plastic instead of Nill grips. While I haven't had the chance to get my X-5 to my favorite shooting spot, I have to admit that I've spent a few minutes simply admiring it.

I got to handle one for the first time a couple weeks ago when a customer at the store had one transferred in. Such an amazing gun, I would love to own one someday!

I've been blessed to own so many nice pistols....I'll buy something play with it for a while and get something else. I'm always in search of the "best" pistol for a specific purpose...home defense, target, plinking etc.

The X-5 L1 (the one I own anyway) is easily the most accurate 9mm pistol I've ever shot. The only thing I can compare it to is a hand-fitted custom 1911 as far as accuracy.

It actually caused me to get rid of other range/target pistols because they just seemed "second best" after a while. I replaced the Nill grips with a more aggressively textured grip (I also just think the Nills are just too nice for the range).

Soft shooting and very accurate! I can't wait 'till the spring plate shoots start again up here!

I have a Dawson fiber optic front sight on order, and still gotta get a lot of magazines

I've wanted an X-Five All Around for quite awhile now. Saving those Cabela's points......

There is a newly updated version too. I like that it has a rail. I wonder if they will do a P227 version in .45.

Thanks. The slide release is stock....

Your slide release looks to be sticking out perpendicular from the frame. Mine seems to be at about a 45 degree angle ?

It does look more straight.

Possibly due to being the DA/SA model, slightly different parts used I guess.

That would take a lot of Cabela points!

Yep, I'm patient. I once paid $300 cash for a $1200 gun. I used $900 in points.

If you pay for everything with a Cabala's card and pay it off immediately, then they give you a black card eventually. That means you REALLY screwed up
;)

I'm saving my pennies towards a X5 Tactical, Sig makes some amazing stuff.

Morgo you make me so jealous, those Beretta Combat Combos aren't available in the states.

I picked up an L1 last year and it is a simply amazing pistol. World class trigger and almost nonexistent recoil equals some very fun shooting. I've had a few FTF issues but I'm not sure yet if it's the gun or the reloads I was using. The bullets were 90 Gr. and the data was hard to come by so it's possible the OAL had something to do with it.

There have been some problems with these pistols because of the extractor but I knew that before I bought it. Bruce Gray has a new extractor designed so if the problems continue with good ammo I will send them my slide. Funny the trigger is adjustable down to 2.2 pounds but it is so smooth at the higher setting, which I think is 3.5#, I haven't really felt the need to mess with it. Good luck, you just purchased one of the most accurate pistols made.

Beautiful gun, Rinspeed! I was reading a post by Bruce Gray at the Eno's forum, and he spoke in detail regarding the extraction issues in 9mm X5's. Starting sometime in February GGI will be doing extractor upgrades in X5's

My L1 was well used and quite dirty, so It got some deserved TLC. I replaced the recoil spring with a proper X5 piece, and also replaced the mainspring, firing pin spring and retainer pin and lever spring.

The firing pin and channel were beyond filthy...full of carbon and brass flakes. I also swapped the front sight with a Dawson F/O unit...
