Hiya Guy's :) . One thing that I forgot to mention is I really like the stippling that's down the front of and down the backstrap of the grip, and combined with the texture of the grip panels which reminds me of nice Hogue grips, I get a really good purchase on the grip and it feels really comfortable :) ...

Got a Firestar .40 in '91. Got a Gen2 GLOCK 23 in '93 and made the mistake of loaning the Firestar to my brother.

He still has it and won't give it up. It is his only CF pistol and he loves it.

Just for fun he made a titanium firing pin and a tool steel extractor (machinist).

They are reverse rail tanks, so grease them as such.

And cut off the magazine disconnect, (unless your week day transportation is a little yellow school bus.)

If you brother has some spare time, he could make a little cash on the side, making extractors.

I'm SURE he could make up a few and sell them quickly. And he could just about name his price!!

I'll be there are hundreds of "dead" Firestar .40s stuck in gn cabinets and drawers around the U.S...

He is long away from his tools and off in the boondocks.

Just a part, though.

Given an intact extractor, any qualified machinist should be able to fab one.

A CNC machine could crank'em out as well once you had it blueprinted.

Wow, haven’t seen one of these in years! Thanks for sharing the photos of this great gun.

Oddly enough, the Firestar in .40 is the gun that got me stuck on Glocks. When I was 21, I was determined to buy a handgun as soon as possible and the gun I settled on was the Firestar in .40. I went and checked it out multiple times at the gun shop and one day the guy asked if I wanted to see the new Glock 23. I wanted nothing to do with those silly plastic guns but I figured, why not check it out?. I bought that Glock 23, then my dad tried it and he bought one. And then I bought another and my best friend tried mine and went off and bought a Glock 22. Never got the Firestar. Kinda wish I had one.
