but I am far better with my EDC than anything else, so I've simply pulled it out of it's holster and put it on the nightstand at bedtime, for years now.
I'm so lazy mine go in a vertical-slot organizer next to the bed still in holsters.

The FNP seems to be rather popular for the bedside. Here's mine, but in .40. It's twin, minus the Streamlight and with a blued slide, is often my CCW.

His and Hers.

But I am working on a new defender. Just not quite qualified yet. A couple hundred more rounds. I am forecasting beginning of Q3.

Any compact 9mm caliber and up with a light rail is best that is DA , SW, SA, or ruger or even the glocks are good.

You really need a bedside gun to have a built in laser and flashlight, I personally use a glock 23 40sw with a glock light and laser I picked up used for $100.

In night time low light conditions you really need night sights and light and laser in order to see your target or threat.

I know a lot of ppl like to just use a flash light held against their pistol, but in an emergency you need to get your weapon into action quick and not worry about other accessories.

Glock 17, is the nightstand hangun. (Remington 870 12 gauge is my "go to" HD gun, but it won't fit into the nightstand.)

XD 40 S&W, w/ TruGlo TFO green sights, love those green dots glowing beside the bed. A S&W 637 w/ CT grips just in case. I pray that I never have to reach for either, but make no mistake about it I will to protect me and mine.

This - on my night stand for the traditional "bump in the night" sorts of things ...

... as well as a source of comfort for the unexpected knock on the door after sundown.

10mm Glock 29, loaded hot. ;)

I carry a Glock 27 as my every day carry. I add my 357sig barrel when I want more penetration, you know when I get the feeling I'm about to be mugged by an obese thug. But I really, really want a G29. A CC gun no bigger than my 27 that can take down a bear (or a fat thug). A barrel change and it becomes a 40s&w.

Man I hate threads like this. I see all of these neat guns and I feel like I did at Christmas when I saw everything everybody else got. It always looked better than what I got, even though I got what I asked for.

My choice of either a Ruger SR9c with it's 17 round magazine or a CZ P-01 with it's 14 round magazine. Illuminination provided by a 4 D cell MAG-LITE.

Springfield XDm 9mm with 147g Winchester SXTs and a Surefire 6P LED handheld light when I am home, and an XD45 tactical with 230g Hornady XTPs for the wife when I am gone(and carrying my 9)

Mine is a lighted Glock 21 with several high cap mags, and near by a P226 with CT grips.

This is my Star PD that keeps the night stand safe. I also carry it's twin as my daily carry.

They are quite accurate and reliable. 22 ounces unloaded.
