What is your night-stand autos that you use to protect your home that may be too big to conceal carry ? I just got a new night stand pistol and its an accurate , reliable horse! A CZ SP-01 Fullsize all steel . At 2.4 lbs its a horse! 18 rd capacity and a light rail and the ability to carry "cocked and locked" , I may start carrying it too !
Let's see em !

Why would I put anything other than my holstered carry gun in that spot?
After all, my carry guns are the ones I shoot best and the most reliable handguns I have, if you discount unsuitable target pistols.
Not that your CZ isn't pretty, but is it the gun you shoot best?

I go for my Ar15 or Ps90 if I can. Surefire G2 lights attached to those.

Red dots sights work a whole lot better than irons at night without my contacts, especially if my Cat hid my glasses under the fridge while I'm sleeping.

Otherwise, my 1911 is my home defender with a Surefire E2D in hand. Heinie Ledge Trijicon sights.

I carry my CZ P-01 and shoot it just as well . I choose the Sp-01 as home defense because of weight .

The same one I carry all day. That way I don't need to remember to move something from the nightstand to the safe every morning before I leave for work. More importantly, if I take it off at the day's end and put it by the nightstand, I don't need to remember to get it out of the safe. I'd hate to reach for it and realize I forgot to take it out of the safe before I went to bed or after I got home.

Generally whichever gun I happen to be carrying that day gets unholstered and set on the nightstand, that's normally my XD or my New Agent.

I figure that's enough firepower to get me to the 12 gauge.

Mossberg 535 12 ga.
something about the sound a pump shotgun makes when cycling is a sound every crook knows and fears, no missing with this thing.

My FNP-9M with night sights is my nightstand gun. Most days I prefer to carry something smaller, but the carry gun goes into the nightstand along with the FNP-9M when I get home.

My nightstand pistol has pretty much been a USP 45c for many years. I also carry it when clothing permits.

Gosh, it feels like I answer this question every three months or so on all the different forums. Anyway I'll answer it again. I keep a Glock 21sf in the nightstand & a 12 gauge Rem 870 express in the corner. Unless it's one of the other guns that I own.

^This. I used to use a HKUSP45C with a laser mounted, but I am far better with my EDC than anything else, so I've simply pulled it out of it's holster and put it on the nightstand at bedtime, for years now.

Mine is one of a couple, either a S&W SD9 with a TRL-1, or my new to me HK 45 USP with TruDot night sights. I have a hand held Surefire G2 for the pistols without rails for night time lumination!
If I am lazy and didnt go into the safe upon arriving home, it could be any of my CCWs.

SPO1 003.jpg

SP01 Phantom, same as the OP's, except with a polymer frame. This is my nightstand gun, and frankly my favorite poly auto of all time. As good as the Glock 17 was, it doesn't hold a candle to the CZ.

Glock 17 with light

When I am done running for the day the Glock 26 goes in the safe and the Glock 17 comes out.

This - on my night stand for the traditional "bump in the night" sorts of things ...

... as well as a source of comfort for the unexpected knock on the door after sundown.

10mm Glock 29, loaded hot. ;)
