I like ARs but like you said some times how we are perceived is by looks.

Yeah, I think it's because what's different to us. My daughter sees an AR as just another black boring gun. You'll catch her eye with pretty wood though. I suppose that's not as common today as it used to be.
 
The AR market is also very saturated right now. I think Ruger would be smart to market a product that would differentiate itself and present something unique. I would be happy with a PC9 type rifle, a American bolt action in .44 and .357 or best of all, a Deerfield in .357.
 
Agreed. If the PC4 I owned many years ago took Glock magazines, I would still own it!
 
Might want to look into The Kel Tec Sub 2000 takes glock 9 and 40 mags. Does not resemble an AR except for the mag goes in the hand piece. The also sell a 223 that is set up as a regular rifle, but the mags will stick out the bottom.
