I would like to get a Non-resident CCW. When i turn 21 granted.

I live in Ohio and we don't have CCW. Yes i know I won't be able to carry in Ohio. But i travel to Kentucky, Indiana, Tenn. and a few other states fairly often.

Would anyone suggest this or would it be just a waste of time??

In readin the Indiana more closely since it's the closest issuing state.
"If the applicant is a resident of another state and has a regular place of business or employment in Indiana, to the sheriff of the county in which the applicant has a regular place of business or employment."

i don' think that counts for me. Tennesse says pretty much the same thing but can't find anything stating like that for Florida.

I'm in the same boat. Turn 21 in a couple months, reside in Ohio but go to school in Michigan. So far every source I've checked said I can't get a non-resident permit for Michigan. Sucks to be us, eh?

yeah, sure does. i can go die in battle for this country. but i can't use supierior means to protect myself.:cuss:

I say just grab the Florida permit. A buddy of mine lives near Youngstown and has one. Florida does not distinguish between resident and non-resident permits. It is expensive though and some states require that you be a resident of Florida before they will honor it but not all. If you are interested then Packing.org will help you get started and everything can be done through the mail.

I third (or is it fourth?) going the Florida route. They will send you a packet with all the info you need....real easy.

Florida also will accept eight or ten different types of training....it doesn't have to be specific to the Florida laws. They will even accept a hunter's safety certificate!

hunters saftey certicicate. sweet in the middle of the do it at home course right now.
