What do I mean by non tactical? I mean knives that have a locking function without looking like military gear. I am talking wood or bones scales, non-aggressive designs, no pocket clips, something a mall ninja would sneer at.
A knife with class...
Now I must admit my first lockback was not all that pretty, it was a very inexpensive Colonial...how many remember these?
My next locking knife was very similar but miles ahead in quality, a Normark Big Swede...
Now admittedly those two didn't have much class but it wasn't too long after I bought a knife that oozed class from every pore...a Case Sharktooth...
Remington hunter pattern lock blades followed...
My AG Russell Texas Ranger Commemorative knives are more great examples that I carry often...
I have others as well and there are many types I haven't mention. The Buck 110 is a classic as is the Opinels. There are as may types as there are knife makers and patterns it seems. They tend to be more socially acceptable which is nice in church and around little grandmotherly types. They are much better looking and feel good in the hand. And in a proper belt pouch they carry very easily...
The slipjoint locking folder... a great alternative to the tactical in today's world!
