I just got a new (to me) Norinco and had trouble taking it down. The former owner put an ultra tight bushing in-I removed it with a small hammer and piece of plastic. I had a bushing floating around that kinda fits, just abit tight. I've seen "drop-in" bushings from Ed Brown. Are they the way to go? Thanks.

No offense: It's a Norinco. China's communist best.

Let me guess, you have never owned a norinco. If you had, you would know that the Norks are just as good, or better (price wise) than a 70's series Colt.

Back on topic. Just go to a gun show, purchase a regular bushing for a 45 acp, put it in and have fun. I am sure if you make a pawn shot trip, or go to a local gunsmith, you could find one there too..

If the pistol functions properly and you can put up with the take down regiment ,then enjoy your Norinco. My Norinco 1911 has been a great shooter. If this problem is bugging you,by all means try another bushing.

S. Kelly, Vernal45 put it best.

The best Norinco upgrade is not to purcase a Norinco in the first place.

No offense Whatsit: but you  really don't seem to know of what your talking about. This is your second post where someone ask a serious question regarding Norinco and you had nothing to add but a silly remark. If you have had a bad experience with one it would be much better to inform others of the situation you encountered. If you are like so many others that just hate the fact that is a product of a communist country thats fine, just say so. However you might be shocked to know just how much stuff on the shelves of nearly every store comes from China.
Norinco's copy of the 1911 is a fine inexpensive Colt clone. I'll put mine up against anything as far as reliability goes. I bought it used (two weeks old) approx eight years ago and it is box stock and eats everything from 175gr LSWC to 250gr Hornady XTP JHPs. Many have been used as a base for a custom gun and people that know better don't let one sit on the shelf long if it is box stock or in decent shape. By the way I also have a very high end Colt that after a couple hundred dollars of improvments is a wonderful gun. However not everyone wants to spend $800.00 or more on a gun.
