My Norinco, Model 1911A1 clone, has matching numbers on both the outer right side of the slide and frame - 301XXX - one right above the other. I have not seen other examples withe the slide marked. Is it common for both the the slide and frame to be serial numbered?

Thanks, Bill

On some pistols, like both my Tauruses, they have the serial number in THREE places. Frame, Slide, AND barrel. It wouldn't surprise me if your 1911 had it on the slide and the frame.

I've not seen a Norinco with the serial number on the outside of both the frame and slide.

The eloctro-penciling drewzfoster refers to seems to be the norm.

I've had a bunch of Norks and none were serialized that way......only on the frame. A couple were in the 32..... range and others later in 51......range, although I don't know how these equate to age, or mfg dates.

I had the frame of my favorite one out in the shed and it got stolen so now I have a nice slide and no frame if any of you come across a frame thats for sale.

here is the pistol with serial numbers.

no electropencil marks that I can locate.

Anyone have a "made on" date?

Thanks, Bill

Tuner, will you trade the Wolf/Huskey for it? I know the answer to that; something like "not for 100 Norks" LOL.........
