I finally got my MAK-90 back from the gunsmith. This was going to be a do-it-yourself conversion to a no-ban AK (but I really messed things up and ended up sending it to a gunsmith to fix it). I just refinished the butt stock and Ironwood pistol grip (it's not a perfect match, but close enough for now). I have a slant brake on the way. Once the barrel is threaded and the brake installed, it will be done.

This has been a difficult project. I've learned that I should leave the tinkering to the professionals and buy guns already modified when possible (even if the price is a little higher).

P.S. Anyone want to buy a barely used Harbor Freight 12 ton A-frame press?

Though you might have messed it up before, it looks great now. i love my mak-90 it has a sweet trigger, better than my m4 and it shoots really well!

What did you do that was hard and you screwed up? My MAK90 conversion was pretty simple.

First, I couldn't get the front sight and gas block off. I tried to punch out the pins with my press, but I didn't know what I was doing and it just didn't work. Then I got out the dremel and finally hacked off the front sight and gas block (accidentally cutting into the barrel too). Then I couldn't get the new gas block on. It was completely stuck. So, I sent it off to have it done right before I totally ruined it. I just don't have the patience for gunsmithing.

But, it's fixed now. :D
