North Fork Tactical primer update

Haven’t seen a single primer in a brick and mortar store for well over a year. I’m sure there have been some in my greater metro area… but unless you happen to be retired with plenty of time to make the rounds…. I’m still in for my NFT order. Maybe ATF will approve, maybe they won’t, but I already spent the money and it’s an even shot.

No way in hades I'm paying $75 a brick!!!!!
I guess I'll have to find a new hobby.
I just can't afford it

I haven't bought nor looked for any primers lately, but the last I bought I paid $75 for 1000 Fed LP Match a few months back. Didn't need them really, and they're still unopened but I bought some other stuff from the same person a few weeks earlier. Got a better deal on the other stuff, so I didn't mind the $75 worth of insurance.

I’m at the age were I need to get into BP! I’m going to buy something BP! right now
Ruger Old Army . . .

I'm okay with 7.5 cpr. I want it to go back to 3-4 cpr, but I can warrant 7.5
I know that you could get 9mm for 15cpr just 2 years ago. Now you are lucky to find it for less than 50cpr.

Prices will come back down, but I don't think they will go back where they were.

Hopefully some of you got in on the primers at Brownell's last week. That was a little better deal than Midway has been running.

I'm hanging in with my order of 7k primers from NFT. I doubt if primer prices will ever be any lower than the 6 cents each I have locked in there. It's not just shooting that's gotten more expensive, inflation is rearing it's head on almost everything and I don't think that's going to change anytime soon.

I still have a good supply of components and loaded ammo so I can afford to wait for this new shipment, and I've cut back a lot on my centerfire shooting because -

My black powder and percussion cap stash is looking better and better by the week………..

and as it takes sooooooo long to load and shoot it will probably last my life time………

I recently took up black powder shooting, and I'm loving it. I bought a rifle and a pistol, both flintlocks, because I know that caps are like primers, impossible to find at any reasonable price. So far I've had no problem finding any of the supplies I need for them. I figure it's costing me about 40 cents a round to fire them but since you don't shoot a hundred rounds in a 15 minutes like you can with modern guns, a range session with them is way cheaper.

You know about flint lock? they require ZERO primers

Have you tried to find some quality flint lately?

I can buy flints for less than 2 dollars each and get 50 to 100+ shots from each flint so that's pretty inexpensive.

Couple days back did another check on Gonebroker primer auctions. The sell offers that start low and attract at least 4 or more bidders. Large rifle primers still selling for 15 to 19 cents plus in 1000k bricks.

Encouraging to see primers starting to appear on Midway, etc, but still in limited amounts and 7 1/2 cents per plus haz mat and shipping. Tend to last moments, and are gone.

So that is your current alternative.

$2 for flint at 75 shots… that like primers costing $.025 a shot! NICE

I just emailed Noah for a status update, will share if any news.
Thanks. We’re almost a month past what I thought was going to be the early date for approval so hearing that August is a probability isn’t surprising or worrying. How ironic that that by the time Noah gets his order ready for public sale supplies will be returning.

Yeah I don't mind, I like these things. Only problem is, now I have an excuse to "Test" 400 rds per week just to be sure.
