North Fork Tactical primer update

So, the update is "no progress" on the import front.

When are the ribbon cuttings for all those new primer factories? I'm down to a year and a half's supply.
Don't worry. When all of the new ammo hits the shelves, the newbies will give up reloading and sell their gear off for pennies on the dollar. The primers will flow like honey from a bee's butt.

Well, now, that's mighty nice of you to be so concerned but, I think I've got enough miles around the planet and enough time living in the swamps, planning for hurricanes, drought, fire, flood, sink-holes, and all of the times that come from being very rural to be able to plan fairly well. I made it this far. :)

Per the Weather folks better start panicking now and make mass purchases of gas and supplies as there is a "storm" somewhere out there with a cone of hundreds of miles It is off Valenzuela and they are already getting people hyped up!

The primer ship will be lost at sea!:what:

From what I hear from Tom G. These are existing ammo manufacturing companies that don’t want to rely on vista for their primers. So they are making it inhouse and that should free up reloader primers for us.

on a side note: This is probably the most civil primer discussion we had on THR… What’s going on??? zero name calling, zero I told you so…

I think we are running low on primers and everyone is at the last stage of death… ACCEPTANCE or is that the 12 step AA program

My black powder and percussion cap stash is looking better and better by the week………..

and as it takes sooooooo long to load and shoot it will probably last my life time………
I’m at the age were I need to get into BP! I’m going to buy something BP! right now

I'm in for 5000 primers from North Fork. Went by the local cabelas on Wednesday and they had 2 bricks of CCI SRP. Grabbed my limit of 1 and paid $65 plus tax. Also more ammo is on the shelf and staying there. Price is up %20 or so on most stuff. The coffee has been removed from ammo section... Lol. The local Academy Sports ammo staying on the shelves also.

Does he mean Freedom Munitions? Black Hills? Norma? Folks like that? Names, man, names. Without names and facts, it's just another internet or podcast rumor and we all know how reliable those are. Repeating the same rumor over and over doesn't make it less of a rumor.

Thats the stages of coping with death. DABDA

We admitted we were powerless over primers—that our lives had become unmanageable

Tom G don’t really lie about stuff 8 weeks straight. He’s probably told not to disclose who’s the primer guys are. That how insiders work.

EMF if I may give a plug.
You know about flint lock? they require ZERO primers
Yes. true enough but unfortunately they are limited to single shot pistols or long guns. I like my revolvers;)

ooooh man!!! I’m very close to getting a Les Baer, money wise… Please don’t temp me man! I shot one of the old timers Colt (something like that) BP and it was dead on accurate at 35 yards!

One would think if say Hornady was part of this primer factory they wouldn't be tight lipped about it.
Factories especially ammo related don't just pop up overnight. There has been no, zero, not one word of primer factories breaking ground.

As a revolver enthusiast I can attest with few exceptions any of my cap and ball revolvers are just as accurate, in my hands at least, as any of my center or rim fire ones.(Once one attunes to the rather crude sights of a 19 century designed gun)
A couple of autos I have give better accuracy but the margins are small. There again in my hands.
A good investment were one to have just one percussion revolver would be the Ruger Old Army. Sadly a considerable investment these days for a percussion gun originally priced to sell for much less.
Apologies, again I’m way off thread here.

BTW, I found a story re: breaking ground on a new factory in Wisconsin. Unfortunately, it’s just an ammo factory, not primers. And, the company is closing and existing plant in Arizona so it’s a net wash.
That would be Ammo Inc.
From the June 21, 2021 article containing the announcement -
“We’re 200 million in back orders right now in ammunition. We can’t make it fast enough,” said Tod Wagenhals, Executive Vice President of Ammo Inc."
200 million primers, brass and bullets just to catch up......

that’s 200 million in dollars, not count! they are probably at .10 a round of whatever…. so more like 2 billion in components
