My thoughts are with the victims and their families.
I am a former resident of IL.
A big reason I moved is because of their gun laws.

I think it is best for now if we just pray. There is nothing productive that will come from making political hay out of such a situation.Call the schools, call the school security, call the campus and city newspapers and media...
We need to start pushing at the folks... Call the schools, call the school security, call the campus and city newspapers and media...
It would be in extremely poor taste to start any sort of campaign on the heels of an event like this.
You know the Brady Campaign is going to play this for all it's worth.

Really, for IL any victory for "our side" must start at the state level, getting IL to pass CCW legislation. And that is highly unlikely.
I will be wearing my empty holster to class in april.
We need to get CCW passed and we need to allow students to carry on college campuses nationwide.
What can a responsible armed citizen DO in the face of such a senseless attack? How would you make a difference with your pocket pistol against a well-armed madman in a crowded lecture hall (or mall, or church, etc)?

How would you make a difference with your pocket pistol against a well-armed madman in a crowded lecture hall (or mall, or church, etc)? You may end up heroically dead, or worse, you may injure other innocents. What is the proper response in such a situation?
