Haven't gotten my refund yet, but did get an email from him stating that he was working down the list of refunds. I suspect the list is rather long.
No ill will as long as I receive a refund.
Consider this:
The last email mentioned getting the ball rolling on "other items of interest". So, your import permit is approved for primers and these other items. You can import the primers and send them all to us for 60/k, or you can sell those primers to your "supplier" that makes ammo, make a deal with him, and then import the ammo.
At least for the average consumer, loaded ammo is in more demand right now than primers alone. He would stand to make a lot more money if he made a deal with those primers to get loaded ammo. If a ton of ammo shows up for sale on the NFT website, we'll know what happened to those primers.

I got 2 emails todays saying my order was refunded. Hopefully the money it there on Monday.

Just chiming in here-- I was only on the hook for $75.00, so not really a big deal except...I wanted those primers!

I had to wait until after work today to request a refund, and got a response from North Fork in less than an hour confirming cancellation and refund.

I have yet to check my CC; going to do that right now.

ETA: oh, it's the weekend. Guess I'll have to wait and see.

ETA: I asked for the refund 7/31 ( late saturday), it showed up early monday 8/02.

I kind of suspect that the price swing in the 6 months between when we placed those pre-orders and now when the primers actually arrived determined what would happen to them.

The bottom could have dropped out of the market and primers might have been selling for 6 cents or less today. In that case we would have gotten them at the 6 cents price.

Instead the price stayed well above 6 cents so they were sold elsewhere for more money.

That's shady but it's what some people consider good business practice.

Let's imagine you bought 5 million primers for 3 cents each and sold them for 6 cents each, for a gross profit of $150,000 before expenses. Not too bad, but what if the going price at the time of delivery was 15 cents each? If you sold them for that you'd make $600,000 gross profit. It would be worth the hassle of refunding all those who pre-ordered wouldn't it?

Not saying that's what happened, but it would explain a lot. I think that's what's known as hedging your bet.

If you were being advised by someone with long term international business experience as he said he was, you would have erected the proper legal barriers to prevent what is alleged to have happened. I think this all played out pretty much the way it was drawn up.

It could have been worse. At least we didn't lose our money, but I do think we were played.

He also said more more would be on the way after this first shipment. Wonder what that story will be? I asked for a refund, I received a email stating it was refunded.

If I was gonna bet on this fiasco, that right there is where I'd put my money.

But - not my circus, not my monkey.

Most people supposedly spending all this money on permits, time delays, etc would not be so eager to write so many refund checks all at once. The fact that he is sending them out so readily makes it seem like he got a better deal elsewhere and upped his profit margin.

I was really looking forward to having 5k primers at a decent price. Would have made for lots of carefree 'blammo ammo'. Oh well..

#1 thing in business is risk management. Transfer or mitigate as much risk as possible while still maintaining a profit.
This guy got in way over his head.

Why did the chicken cross that Canadian border road???
—- to hide his primers from THR

What did the Pirate say to the Primer??
—- Arrrh primers goes to ammo man

And if you know an ammo manufacturer who can turn those primers into ammo they can sell for $.75 a round, the pair can easily quadruple that number.

I had two orders…..Order 1 refund showed up Sunday 31july and cleared today 03 Aug. Order 2 showed up today 03 Aug and has not cleared yet….hopefully it will clear tomorrow….

There is 0% chance that story is legit. Now a pallet could go missing(mistakenly used, stolen doesn't matter, abducted by aliens), but IF that happened, it would be insured and would be replaced. As was pointed out, he was just using the money from the pre-orders to finance something.

You mean something like a pallet of primers that his "supplier" used "by mistake"? Something like that?

that sounds very logical, but let’s make more excuses for said dude

Received full refunds on 2 orders for 7k primers. Grateful that is over, and that Noah came through on the refunds.

There are two current threads on this subject. I posted this earlier today:

UPDATE: I was mistaken above. I received the full refund yesterday.

I wish I’d have gotten the primers, but I was made whole and have no further complaints.

Ultimately, I wish NFT well. It’s a trying time for folks, and he’s in a tough business. I’d do this again with them if the opportunity comes up.
