I had a question regarding an online vendor, and I did not see an immediately obvious forum to ask such a question. If this is the wrong forum or not a post that should be made, please move/delete it.

Anyways, I am looking into getting a Springfield XD 9mm for the range/my first handgun. I have shot several guns, I just have not bought any (besides a Mosin). http://www.kygunco.com/products2.cfm/ID/2061 seems to be a very good price, but I was wondering if anyone here had experience with them. Somebody I met warned me that some sites who have really good prices are really selling refurbished police issues (not sure if true or not). Anyways, $390 shipped seems like a damn good price.

Thanks.

Not a bad deal, but I would hold out for an XDm,especially if it was my 1st pistol.

I've heard them mentioned before, nothing negative just from some of my group buys from them. I've been in Lexington for 9 years now and done business with Bud's and Centerfire System as well as some small gun shops in town none of which really have a web site to speak of.

Besides having the better barrel, is there any other advantage to an XDm over an XD? I looked and the XDm raised the price quite a bit. I am on a college students budgets (IE spending money I should probably save). This would really be just for the range and MAYBE eventual carry.

I've been to their store in Bardstown, KY many times. Excellent people to deal with. If ever in the area, stop in, they have a very large gun store which also sells hunting clothing, reloading supplies and great cured hams!

How hams and guns go together I dunno unless it's our proud redneck heritage. :)

haha if I ever make it down that way I will, I live in northern New England...

Also, I assume $390 is a great price from what I have seen, but I don't suppose anyone knows of any other good deals on the XD in 9mm?

I bought a ISSG MK II 22lr SCAR clone from them via Gunbroker ... Fast service plis the notified me when they got more of the propritary mags in for it which was about 3 months later.

The last time I stopped in they mentioned they were going to concentrate on Springfields. The ham thing comes along because Keene's Depot (kygunco online) is right next to Boone's, one of the biggest custom butcher shops around. I had a Deer processed there a couple of years ago, that place was insane opening weekend. It was like a concert where everyone had to bring a carcass.

Great shop to deal with, in person or online. As far as the price on the XD, Palmetto State Armory ran them for $369 the other day. Swing by their site and sign up for the daily deals emails, they might do it again. Be prepared for about three emails a day from them.

Lastly the XDM not only has the match barrel, it also has a lighter trigger.

I would say that's good. Cost on that for a small dealer is about $380, plus shipping.

The ad says "New Essentials Package". I don't know if that means the gun is new or the package that they put together is new. Based on the picture and the fact the same package is being offered on the Springfield Armory website it sures sounds like a new gun to me.

p.s. It is amazing what you can find when you surf the Internet.

It's a new gun, they often beat Bud's prices.
It has not been announced yet AFAIK but around this time of year Springfield puts on a promotion where if you buy a new XD or Xdm you get 3 free mags + mag holster.
If it's going to happen it will be soon so you may want to wait and see.
That gun with this promotion IMHO is the best value in a handgun you can get.

Redneck or not, if I owned a business, particularly a firearm related business- dang right I'd sell hams, pickled pigs feet, cracklins, bacon- lots of bacon. There would always be the hope of keeping any future Major Hasan's out.

Reputable company for sure with great customer service as well. Bought a Kimber from them about 4 months ago. They had the best price. Good luck with your purchase.
