Not the greatest range day today with the .22’s

Sorry to hear about your frustrations. It's amazing how crappy some .22 ammo can be. However atleast you were able to get out and put some rounds down the pipe of a few guns. A bad day at the range is better than a good day working, LOL.

I spent yesterday, my only day off this week humping brush and feeding it into a 6" chipper . But the weather was beautiful, so can't complain too much!

One brand that has worked for me wonderfully is the CCI standard velocity 22 LR's. This round feeds and extract very well. I picked up four 50 round boxes for $2.99 each at Sportsman Warehouse the other day.. I use these rounds in our informal Bullseye Matches. For me, this Ruger Mark III is difficult to beat. YMMV. I tend to have malfunctions with Aguila match cartridges. That CCI stuff is a lot of cartridge for the money. This ammo also does very well in my CZ 452 and Savage Mark II. Like I said, YMMV.

I have no problem with anyone shooting a 45., 44 mag, 500 etc at a indoor pistol range.IT IS A PISTOL RANGE FOR GOD SAKE. What kills me, is every weekend I get up early to beat the riff raft that plagues the indoor ranges in today's world. I get there before the place opens on a Sunday. I look down the line of people waiting to shoot and SO many black rifle cases of AR's. Yet, a range down the road on a pleasant Sunday of a 30 min. ride through the countryside is very available. My God Dude, you can shoot up to a 1,000 yards Why the **** do you want to shoot that at this Pistol range? Every heard about wasting ammo? And of course these Idiots will rapid fire their gun into that 25 yard target.
I am not a Liberal, but sometimes, even I hate the people that own guns in today's world.
Our sport has produced some of the most outrageous jerks than you can imagine. Yea, they got the right, but I hate them. They do not have the respect I was taught by my Father. They abuse the privileged. They are sloppy and arrogant. They feed the liberal fight for gun control.

Long gone are the day's when a Father took a son to the range with a 22.cal and taught him how to appreciate the value of just one shot. To learn the trigger, the gun, the wind, the rain, the sun. Just one shot.
Now a bunch of Video game trash that buy a AR and have no respect for anything.
Jeb, your post reminds me once again of the huge difference between what one has a right to do and what is the right thing to do. How can the same word have such two radically different meanings and applications?

Fortunately, our range has a range with reactive targets for the black rifles. This range allows a place for those who are into the black rifles to shoot to their hearts content. I gotta remember that my shooting hobbies may look as bizarre as theirs is to me. Sometimes live and let live is driven to the max.

Addendum: Most of my range shooting of late has been on the pistol range where rules are tightly enforced. There's were I shoot the rim fire ammunition, This is the subject OP brought up. It's still CCI Standard Velocity here.

Great post jeb!

I had some crapola Winchester 22lr that would not work in ANY firearm including bolt action rifle! It would only fire in my 617 and begrudgingly at that. I had to push each round into the chamber and there was an unacceptable failure rate. I didn't track it, but I recall it was bad. I shot all that junk up and usually use only CCI now. But remember when we couldn't get any - a couple years ago I think. I keep a good stock now.
