Hey all,
I was planning to hit the range this weekend but I smashed my trigger finger at work yesterday and I don't think I physically can shoot with my strong hand.
What do you think, go anyway and shoot lefty (probably a waste of ammo in my case) or wait until this stupid finger feels a little better ?

Got my trigger finger chewed up a couple years ago, still shot strong hand, but used my middle finger. Surprisingly, I was still able to shoot very accurately that way.

Holy cow! Maybe I'll try the middle finger. Thanks for the tip/idea. Your poor finger makes me look like a baby for complaining , hope you made a full recovery.

:eek:Looks like you’re going need to drill that nail! I would shoot weak hand with whatever little BUG you might actually have to defend yourself with if your strong hand gets injured. (like now). I did a good bit of weak hand only work and learned how hard it was to handle a small pistol with hot +p ammo.

The bloods oozing out from the crack as the pressure builds , so that's good. If I remember correctly you're in the auto industry too? Its one of those job hazards that's just unavoidable .ugh

Manufacturing industry for me, which is also a finger smasher!:cuss::D My last injury was a deep slice on my trigger finger pad that contacts the trigger. I shot often while it healed and that slowed the healing considerably. After that I tend to protect my trigger finger because I love shooting WAY more than my job!:D

My trigger fingers crooked enough at the joint that it drags on the frame and/or the inside of the guard. When that injury happened I was playing paintball religiously and learned to shoot my mechanical guns with my middle finger. I still practice like that from time to time, tho I can't do it with some guns because of the way they are gripped.

Id either run off hand, or middle finger, or try both and see what works for future reference.

I did that once but wouldn’t miss a chance to shoot a match back then. Ordered a left hand holster and went to practicing. Took me from finishing at the top of the list back to mid expert placings but I did learn a lot.

Nothing super useful but did, sometime later, make a couple people ask me after this stage in 2009 about “that last reload.”

All the more reason to do more of it. Probably don't need to go shooting magnum revolvers or whatever but certainly should be shooting your carry gun (if you have one) with the support hand.

Ouch hit the wrong nail, been there. Hope it heals quickly. Go shoot anyway it's good practice.

This would have killed a normal man P.S.like the group
On that sore finger ??? Does everyone have range medical
Kit .??? And WHYNOT ?? Be safe!

As our parents would say " tape it up and walk it off".

Well people have been giving me the middle finger for years, now's your way of giving it back without anyone noticing it.
