Now that you had it for a bit, do you still like your Springfield XD-E?

Hi, I’m addressing those that can appreciate a double action trigger and that have spent enough time with a Springfield XDE to be beyond first impression.

Do you still like it? How’s it shoot for you? How’s it carry? Did you settle on a holster? Any quirks that you eventually got used to? Anything you don’t like? Any pictures?

I have had mine now since March I think. I really like it in many ways. The only problem I have had is me, getting used to the long double action first pull which was causing me to develop a bad flinch. So I went to the range and shot nothing but the double action side. Dropping the hammer every time. I have to say it really helped. It is my favorite gun to carry. Haven't settled on a holster so I usually use my DeSantis for now. I can't carry it on my ankle but my Walther PPS M2 is the one for that. But it hasn't had a bobble since I got it.

Thanks for replying, that’s helpful to know!

I’ve had my xde 45 for a few months and overall I like it very much. It’s lite which is good for carry. It comes into my hand smoothly on draw and lines up with my natural aiming point most of the time. The recoil takes some getting used to. Very smooth. Comes back on target well. It’s not perfect however. First, for me it’s on the large size for comfortable concealed carry. The factory sights are disappointing. Having truglo tfx pro day/nights on as we speak.

I saw a video where the guy said that he has to push the ejector to the side to get the slide back on. Have others experienced this and is it something to be concerned about?

I have had mine in 9mm for nearly a year now. I am not real fan yet, I like my XD sub compact much better. My problem with the XDE is it is almost the same size and weight as my Sig 239 but with a trigger that is not as good.

I've had my 9x19 XD-e for about a year. It had an issue with locking back the slide on the last shot and Springfield replace the gun. The new gun has performed flawlessly since I received it.

I shoot the DA fine with the Springfield but I really prefer the DA action on my H&K P30SK better. The trigger on the XD-e breaks at the wrong place for me.

I keep the Springfield XD-e for my farm's external shop gun, it is good in that service for me. The H&K P30SK is my carry pistol.

I prefer to have a pistol without potential energy stored in the firing mechanism, hence the DA/SA pistols. Working with DA only revolvers and DA/SA pistols, the DA mode is not an issue for me. I shoot them accurately just fine.

I did put the stick on rubberized grip enhancement on the XD-e (the actual name escapes me at the moment) and it improved the operation of the XD-e for me.
