As already noted, the media routinely misuse the term "arsenal" this way. Just like all the reference to magazine capacity in terms of "bullets." Or magazines as "clips," for that matter. Somebody with access to a national forum needs to write an article on "The Firearms Ill-Literacy of the Media."
