Fox news cut away just as he started talking about the program that they were proposing. :banghead:

I'm watching online, but have the TV on.

Throwing violent video games under the bus = GOOD MOVE. They deserve to be thrown under the bus, and have an effect on kids whether you think they do or not.

Suggesting armed gaurds in every school = GOOD MOVE. One of the best remedies to to horrible problem. Cowards with guns hate brave men with guns.

So far so good. Good press conference.

So, it sounds like the NRA is not willing to talk about any bans, control efforts etc. Thumbs up for that.

And they are providing a solution that will "do it for the children".

At least he specifically centered on video games and movies that glorify murder instead of all violent video games in general.

However, as a gamer I still think it's a low blow.

Personally, I've played Grand Theft Auto, and I've never beaten and robbed a streetwalker or gotten in shootouts with the cops.

I am extremely pleased by what I've heard. The NRA has proposed the next logical step in dealing with the tragedy- REAL, PREVENTIVE MEASURES.

I'm happy about what they said. They pounded their qualifications to train and are putting their money where their mouth is by saying they will prepare it.

CNN is already pounding that they didn't talk about "gun control"... no surprise, but they did the right thing by not mentioning any of it.

Yeah, the anti-gun whack-jobs did a great job of looking like the strung-out nut-jobs we know them to be.

My renewal is due in January and I was waiting for what they said today. I'm renewing and seriously thinking about a lifetime membership.

Matt

Video games are not the culprit here. That is like blaming guns for shootings. Video games are a form of entertainment, not unlike movies or books.

You might as well blame "Two and a Half Men" for causing you to have liver failure because you drank like Charlie Sheen after watching it.

Directing attention in that direction is EXACTLY what I expected. It is the proper move when your opponent does NOT respond to rational discourse. And the antis do not.

Move 1: blame guns
Counter 1: blame things near and dear to opponent
