First off I agree with the below comic and realize that there is a time to mourn and a time afterwards to discuss. But by not making a statement the NRA is getting chewed up. The NRA also stopped tweeting and even closed their Facebook account which makes them look bad in my opinion. They stated, "We won't make a comment until all of the facts are known." Which I think was a poor statement. They could have said, "Our hearts go out to those killed in Connecticut, and we will make a statement at the appropriate time." There was a recent article which I can't find, but it talks about how the NRA's silence is hurting them and making them look guilty. Also, some gun manufacturers are cutting their own throats by immediately selling out. It makes them look bad. Dick's Sporting Goods has even suspended their sale of semi-auto rifles. This isn't helping the 2nd Amendment cause in my mind.
I think immediately selling your company that makes guns, stopping the sales of guns, and being silent are hurting the 2nd Amendment cause.
What do you think?

Cerberus to sell gunmaker after massacre
By Mark Thompson @CNNMoney December 18, 2012: 7:56 AM ET
LONDON (CNNMoney)
Private equity firm Cerberus has put U.S. firearms maker Freedom Group up for sale following Friday's killing of 20 children and 6 adults at the Sandy Hook school shooting in Connecticut.
Freedom Group includes Bushmaster, maker of the rifle used in the shooting at the school in Newtown. Cerberus bought Bushmaster in 2006 before adding another 10 makers of firearms, ammunition and accessories to the group.

No NRA tweets or comments: A savvy tactic or mistake?
By Philip Elliott, Associated Press / December 18, 2012
In an unusual move, the NRA has gone silent on the Newtown, Conn. shooting. The National Rifle Association has taken down its Facebook page too. As the gun control debate heats up, is the NRA being tactically savvy?
