Not until Wayne is gone.
Things to know:
1. There are several levels of Life Member. Once you get one level, NRA will pester you to upgrade to the next level. Even after you reach top level there are special lists and "ORder of..." they ask you to buy into.
2. If you want to pay full fare in order to get money into NRA, fine. However, there are regularly "sales" of life memberships at deep discount from list price.
3. The special membership sales generally include incentive product "gifts." I have upgraded my Life level several times, waiting for a combination of decent discount and "gift" that I actually wanted. I have gotten a decent range bag, a really nice jacket, and a well designed backpack, and never paid more than $350 for the any upgrade.
Notwithstanding the terribly ugly internal politics of the NRA, I value the training (original reason for its founding) and promotion programs they run, that the general public never hears about in press articles.

Nay. Put the money toward FPC or GOA.Soooooo. Considering lifetime NRA membership.
Yea or nay?
Considering lifetime NRA membership. Yea or nay?
Of late I've had the feeling tht if I donate $50 they'll spend $60 sending more solicitations.
When do you figure they'll get on that weeding? At least one bad egg has been there for over thirty years now....NRA are to gun rights what the Marines are to armed combat. They're the front line soldiers doing the necessary battle. Yes, there are some bad eggs, but they'll get weeded out.
Only if doing so doesn't take away any of your support for other organizations doing good work to maintain our rights.Soooooo. Considering lifetime NRA membership.
Yea or nay?
members refuse to be adults, start whining, or become uncivil.
Life member since 1972.
I thought NRA threads were off limits...I guess Ok until somebody gives a 'nay' and mentions the current 'leadership'....
I do however get my magazine.
If I were in that position, I would not because it has been obvious to me for awhile that WLP is more interested in what is best for WLP rather than what is best for the NRA.Soooooo. Considering lifetime NRA membership.
Yea or nay?
I laugh every time I see comments about Wayne and his suits, because it has little to do with anything. If thats your only beef with the NRA, then buy a membership in GOA or NAGR. Both have laundry every bit as dirty as the NRA and much, much less to show for it. You'll be supporting two organizations that spend a far greater percentage of their income than the NRA on board and staff salaries and a pathetic amount on legislative action and lobbying. But man can they take credit for the work of others. If you want to buy Wayne another suit, go ahead and do it.
