My boy is helping me get a current value on some of my guns (aint that nice of him_to bad dad is planning on it being another 50 years before they are his!!)..anyways I have a model 99 savage in 303 caliber. I know it is early but how early without serial number in front of me slips my mind. But my question is all the ones we are seeing for sale are the smooth round type barrel and this one has an octigon barrel. Would that make the value more?.

Even better since somewhere i got the original reciept from my great uncle for around $30 new...with the layman peep on it...sure glad he collected guns and not women...anyone of my 99' s from him feel way better in my hands then any of my X' s did anyday!!
 
Don't know the year but our local indoor range, on target in asheville nc had a octi barreled savage in 303 savage cartidge with 2 box's ammo for 795. Real nice condition hunting rifle too.

Yeah, a 1920s-era blonde wouldn't be worth near as much as your Model 99.:p
