Well, odd in my limited experience.
I have been collecting brass at my local gun range when I go there to shoot.
When I got back this last time and sorted the brass I found this odd two piece 9mm case.

After doing a bit of research I found it is a NovX +P 9mm round with a stainless steel case.
With a copper/poly bullet they claim 1730 FPS and 432 ft/lbs of energy. Pretty hefty for a 9mm.
Sorry if this is boring old news for you experienced folk. I just thought it was interesting and wanted to share.
I’ll keep an eye out for some to play with.

I've got a box ot them. Pretty and from reports I've seen, very effective. But IIRC I paid over $1.00 per round and only have 20 so that's just about enough for a decent test in one gun. Too costly to try them in my 4, 9mm pistols...

If I recall your suppose to use a special resizing die for those to keep from separating the the base from the top.
I believe you're right, and it ain't cheap, as I recall. But from the looks of that case in OP's pic #2, I don't think even a special die will put that one back together.

The two halves screw together. I just found my first case like this the other day. I was depriving a batch of brass and managed to seize my press up. Not sure why someone thought these were a good idea...
