I was driving with her to 7-11 earlier, and continued the conversation between her and our mom from before we left. She started saying how she's sorry for her friends that were sent to Iraq because of Bush "starting a fight."

Then I said, "well, sometimes current presidents have to deal with things that resulted in what a former president started." Then she said something about how she feels sorry for the next president that has to clean up all the "crap that Bush did." Then she started going on about how if Hillary Clinton runs for president, that she'll vote for her only because she's a woman. I just stopped talking at that point because I couldn't believe that. She's also one of those, "I voted for Kerry because he's not Bush" people. She doesn't read or look into a candidate's plan or anything, she just simply goes by what she sees on TV and all that liberal crap that's spewed out on the Daily Show. The worst thing about it is she pulls off her opinions as facts. Alright, I'm done ranting. :fire: :fire: :banghead: :banghead: :cuss:

How old is your sister? Is she of an age worth listening to when it comes to political topics? I wouldn't expect Walt the janitor to get a rocket into space; I sure as hell wouldn't want Hannibal Lecter performing surgery on me; so why should I value empty political statements spewing from the mouth of a blonde genious?? (actual hair color irrelevant. She's blonde)

I just stopped talking at that point because I couldn't believe that.

This was the best thing you could've done. Don't argue no matter how bad the itch. This is a test of self control. You aren't going to win anyways against a mouth rattling 120 words per minute non stop, "especially" if she's in the company of other supporters. So in times like this when you're temporarily trapped, just relax, breath deeply and travel inside your mind. Think "Zen". Think to yourself along the lines of your next visit to the range, or your next purchase, or another THR thread you want to share with the community.
