Couple of Mondays ago my wife left for the store for S.O.S. pads.
She's gone for an hour and not a peep from her. I'm calling her cell every few minutes...I don't get it she never has it off.
All of a sudden she bursts through the door and I ask her, "WHERE THE ____ HAVE YOU BEEN?"
She tells me, "Some mother______ hit the back of our 4Runner!"
WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh I was all mad and she tells me to come look at this crap.
"I was at the store and come out and some idiot backed into it and took off."
So I storm out to the back of the vehicle to see a blue case sitting on the bumper.
"What's this?" I asked like a complete moron.
"It's for you."
First thing I do is pick up the case and still look at the back of the 4Runner to check for damage.
No damage
Just a Smith & Wesson 460V. Took me about 15 minutes to calm down because I was still pretty mad from all the hype of having our vehicle smashed.
But after three years of drooling she figured she'd just surprise me with it.
I love that Lady.

Gun is great too. If you like big guns that go BANG!!!!! You'd love the 460V.
Lots of horsepower in a beautifully crafted package.

I'm impressed she pulled off a lie that big! My wife could never burst into the house and convincingly claimed that the car had been smashed if it really hadn't. So congrats on the gun, but I'd be a bit nervous about that skill your wife has. :D

Wow, that's a heck of a nice gift and a heck of a nice wife. You'll enjoy the 460V. That's the model I have, and it shoots great. IMO, it's the nicest looking, most useful, and most versatile X-frame out there. I wish I had the mony to pick up another one, and I wish S&W still made them. I think it will have a lot of uses living in Alaska. I guess It increases the value though.

Enjoy and congrats!

I'm still jealous when I read that there are men out there whose wife will buy them guns

Congrats on a very nice gift from your wife! I'm marrying my very pro-gun lady next week and she bought me an FN PS90 for my wedding gift :)

Great story. The only thing you can do to top that is to take her to a fancy restaurant, buy her a dozen roses, giver her the check book, and volunteer to go 'shoe shopping' with her...

Have you gotten to shoot your 460 yet? I'm curious how you like it. What weight and bullet type are you going to carry in it? I assume it's for bear protection. Buffalo Bore makes some crazy rounds for a 460. Hard cast lead, and something like 2800 ft/lbs of energy. There is a video of some guy shooting a 460V with those rounds on youtube. They look really stout but managable.

Some of you guys could take the joy out of a kid's birthday party.

If your post disappeared, perhaps it's because this thread isn't the place to discuss your problems with women.

That's the kind of thing my wife does. My mother used to do the same thing, so I guess I'm a dolt for still falling for the same tricks after 35 years.

Enjoy that 460. From your location, it seems like you may have a need for it.

She said it's for all the extra work around the apartment building I've been doing. We had an eviction that has taken just shy of a month to get back into shape, PIG STY!!!!

I tried the Buffalo Bore 360 grains ammo, only because I don't have all the dies, cases, etc.
A lot of the magazines say it's horrible recoil just the worst. First time I touched one off the first thought in my head was, "It's not that bad GEEZZZZ."

Took a couple guys, Mike and Jason, out with me to shoot it again. Jason is looking to buy one also and he was just as impressed with the firearm and round combination as I am. The first time Mike pulled the trigger and immediately heard, "YYYYEEEEEEOOOOOOOWWWWW!" Jason and I laughed a little. Fit and finish of the gun is excellent just a beautiful gun. Standard S&W trigger, breaks like glass.

Recoil isn't too terrible, I'm only 5'8" and well not as thin as I use to be but it's tolerable. Don't get me wrong YOU KNOW YOU SHOT SOMETHING!

The Buffalo Bore ammunition was really sticky trying to get the cases out of the cylinder. I had to grab the grip frame and use the other had to bear down on the ejector rod. And this was at about 10 degrees. It did shoot fairly accurate, we had on average 2" at about 15 or so yards. But once I get all the dies and what not I'm going to order some bullets from Ranger Rick's Big Bullets. He makes a 535 grain bullet.

But here's some pictures my wife took for me for you guys.

I've got one just like that.

(I'm going to pause and let you guys wonder if I mean the revolver, the lady, or the little one.)

It's the baby carrier. I've got one just like it!

Sweet looking revolver, wife and baby. Count your blessings my friend. I've been married 35 years to my wife and I still count mine. No, she's never bought me a gun but she let's me buy them.

You must be a very happy guy.

Beautiful wife who obviously loves you, a precious baby and a new gun that you have wanted.

You have it all amigo.

fabulous post, friend
count your blessings, it just doesn't get any better than that !
and I can say that with sincere meaning, after 37 years of guns-n-roses, and babies and smiles
keep right on doing what you are doing

(that sweet little gal was a double-take moment for me, could be twin sister to my grandson's pretty lady)

You are truly blessed. Beautiful gun, beautiful wife, beautiful baby.

(listed in order of photos, not in order of importance.)

Fabulous!
Congratulations!

I wish my wife was into guns and shooting.

She is still a good wife and has been for over 30 years.
I would never find another one like her!
