OK, ARs not available, relax and get something better

All we've heard is how the ARs have flown off the shelves, and about the 4 month waiting lists yet I don't hear anyone saying relax and get an assault rifle that is better by spending a little more. This becomes a great argument because I'm hearing of people paying insane amounts for ARs when there is a Sig 556 or an MSAR STG556 or an FN FS2000 available. Are THESE guns also sold out where you are? Well since even the ARs are mostly gone from the internet, there seems to be plenty of other .223 assault rifles, and two of those take M16 mags.

I'm hearing of people spending over a thousand in the current run on AR15s and two of the .223/M16 mag guns I just linked to are about the same price.

Red's (atf's favorite target) seems to have all of the above available, INCLUDING a few bushmaster ARs coming

Just Made It!!!

When elections were still pending, and several months before the actual d-day I had picked up a nice flat top M-4 (Bushmaster ORC) at a show in Concord NH for $880.00 WITH a hard case, cleaning kit, two free mags, a tactical red dot sight, laser AND flashlight all included. WHEW.....just made the cut it sounds like!! It sounds like my timing was PERFECT. Since then I've added a bipod, and sling. Any takers?? I'll let it go for a HUGE profit

Yep, none of those locally either. I saw an MSAR a week ago, but it hit the shelf and was gone in an hour.

i wanted an AR-15 but i settled for a high point carbine. i got it at a pawn shop still works well and came with a free box of ammo lol. it seems lik ar-15s have pretty much disapeared.

the second amendment will not be needed until it is taken away. so buy guns and ammo while we still can

i know where there are two new MSAR and an FS2000 for sale, hso, if you want one, pm me.

however, the only people who think those are better than the AR are people who haven't shot either much.

also, i know where there are several FN PS90s for sale. If you're looking for a pre-ban investment, that's a decent one.

Its not just AR's and AK's that are sold out. In my neck of the woods, its pretty hard to find Ruger Mini-14, Sig 556, Beretta CX Storm, etc.

There are still a fair amount SKS and Saigas available, but who knows for how long.

I traded my MSAR right after the election for one point--spare parts are too expensive, you have to send the rifle in for things that might break, and if they ever cease their production it would have been a limited shooting rifle.

That is the way I see a lot of the rifles still on the shelf. At least with an AR you can work on it yourself, plenty of parts out there (I have stocked up on the essintial parts), and the parts are realitive inexpensive.

Just my humble opinion.

Around here they still have a few AR's but not many they are few and far between but you can find them.I went into a local gun store the other day that had a couple one was 1100 and the other was 1200. I found me a nice used AK for a lttle over 400 at a local pawnshop!!

From what I can tell, around here all the "primary goods" (read: AR15s and the like) are darn near vaporware, and all the "secondary goods" (read: AUG ripoffs, F2000s, etc) are also selling like hotcakes.

It doesn't seem to matter which type of EBR is selling, all of them seem to be selling.

I sure am glad I picked up my AR with a 16" bull barrel, 500 rounds of ammo, sightron red dot and 3-30 and 1-12 round mag + 1 hard case and 1 assault rifle case for $300 this summer.

The above is a true statement and I purposely told the story so you all are in awe!

I'm getting ready to go open the gun shop for a friend. There is one Mini14 left on the rack. I expect it to be gone in the first hour. Guys who have had EBRs on consignment for months have come in and picked them up instead of selling them. AND there are no replacements in stock at any of the distributors the small gun shops deal with. Even WASR10s are hard to get.

I saw 3 ar's at Gander mountain yesterday. All were under 1300 I believe. In this area, the price hasn't changed much. For those looking, Gander Mountain on Rt. 3 in Fredericksburg still has them in .223.

I saw at least 6 or 7 at the gun show in Montgomery last weekend. A few overpriced AR's, some reasonable deals on AK's, as well as a $700 WASR.

That was Sat morning though. It may all have sold for all I know.

Things weren't too bad at the C&E Gunshow here in Myrtle Beach about two weeks ago.

Local stores are slightly higher on their handguns, more than slightly higher on their EBRS, and have frozen discounts. All prices on ARs and the like are firm.
