1) ruger single six
2) marlin 30-30
3) ar-15
4) cz 82 or walther pps
5) browning hi power/.338 lapua/sxs shotgun

I'll play...
1. Ruger MKIII
2. Rem 700 SPS Varmint .308
3. Walther P99 AS - I like the trigger pull and it eats everything I put in it. - Opt for 1911 .45
4. Home Defense / EOW - REM 870 / AR 15
5. If I could only pick one.... AR 15 make the final. You can hunt with it; provide defense or offense; easy to obtain ammo;

1) Plinking/Fun
2) Utility/Woods
3) Home Defense
4) Conceal Carry
5) One you can't live with out

1) Ruger MkIII
2) Remington VTR/.308
3) AR
4) Beretta PX4/9
5) NAA Pug

Threads like this are a lot more interesting when people explain why a certain gun is important to them. It makes you look at your guns differently.

1) Plinking/Fun = Spikes Tactical Dedicated .22 LR AR15 upper ::: Very accurate, 30 rd clips, cheap ammo and simply looks mean. Plus if helps me get better at shooting with #5 while saving $$$$.
2) Utility/Woods = Hard call. Maybe my Izhmash AK47 (Converted Saiga) but may switch to Lever Action 357 because it can share ammo with #4.
3) Home Defense = FNP40 ::: just because it fits my hand so well and has an external hammer. The extra weight of the hammer on the first pull prevents an adrenaline induced accidental discharge. Not entirely sure as I haven't shot it much yet.
4) Conceal Carry = Some .357 magnum revolver ::: Leaning Ruger LCR because it fits my hand so well and is extremely light. Plenty of good S&W choices though.
5) One you can't live with out = AR15 ::: Because I shoot so much better with it than my AK's thanks to the longer site radius, I can train w/ a .22LR upper and 5.56 ammo is plentiful. Configuration = midlength (more durable than M4) AR15 dressed up with CMMG lower , magpul ACS stock (more comfortable than the CTR), Aimpoint 9000sc (50,000 hours on one battery, cheap when on sale and accurate), Troy BUIS (only the best!) and magpul magazines. Otis cleaning kit in handle.

1) Plinking/Fun -- HK94K
2) Utility/Woods -- Mossberg 464 in 30/30
3) Home Defense -- Mossberg 590
4) Conceal Carry -- Keltec P11
5) One you can't live with out -- Taurus 608 (.357Mag/8shot)

1) Plinking/Fun- Browning Buckmark rifle
2) Utility/Woods- Hard one, but a 30-30 lever gun any on them
3) Home Defense- Shotgun any
4) Conceal Carry- 1911 (might be big, but it works)
5) One you can't live with out- Either my AR-15 or a Mauser. Can't decide.

If we're talking only about handguns, then -

1) Plinking/Fun: Ruger MKIII
2) Utility/Woods: Ruger GP100
3) Home Defense: Beretta 92FS
4) Conceal Carry: S&W 642
5) One you can't live with out: Beretta 92FS

1) Plinking/Fun: Stag Arms AR15
2) Utility/Woods: Glock 29
3) Home Defense: S&W 686

1) Plinking/Fun. Ruger MKIII.
2) Utility/Woods. S&W 66-2 .357 4"

4) Conceal Carry. S&W 66-2 .357 4"
5) One I can't live without. 1873 Remington Rolling Block restored and rechambered for .357 Mag

1) Plinking/Fun Kel-Tec Sub 2000 I bought this to be my plinker and get me back into guns and it worked. Put a 33 round Glock magazine in it and go for it. It also has enough recoil to feel like a real gun and 9mm is fairly cheap.
2) Utility/Woods Alexander Arms AR in 6.5 Grendel its good for anything up to and including Elk and its an AR.
3) Home Defense Mossberg 500, nuff said.
4) Conceal Carry G26. I love the G26, I shoot it better than a G17, its small, it has plenty of firepower for a CCW. Its affordable.
5) One you can't live with out. Couple of ways to take this. In terms of freaking out if I did not have one it would be my G26. Hard to imagine not having a concealed carry. In terms of a gun I lusted after it was the Alexander Arms Grendel. Spent more than I could really afford buying it, optics, magazines and ammo and never regretted it.

So just four for me.

1) Plinking/Fun - Hi Point 995TS

3) Home Defense - Rossi .357 (w/Out Hearing Protection)
4) Conceal Carry - Rossi .357

2) Utility/Woods - Glock 20 SF
3) Home Defense - Remington 870 and Bushmaster AR

5) M14

Guns which ones...

These categories overlap. Have to break it down to Handguns and Long Guns.

Handguns:
1.) Plinking/Fun - Plinking: Tossup between my Taurus 92 with 22 conversion, and my K22 Revolver. Fun: S&W 686, although I just got a Ruger P90 I have yet to shoot.

2) Utility/Woods - S&W 686

3) Home Defense/SHTF - S&W 686, Ruger P90, Taurus 92, or Taurus 100. (SHTF: It depends on what I can get ammo wise.)

4) Conceal Carry - Don't have it in my state. I would think my Taurus 92, or Ruger P90, and just to mix it up a little, my 686 on occasion.

5) One you can't live with out - S&W 686

Long Guns:
1.) Plinking/Fun - Mossberg Plinkster, and Marlin 39A (Just plain fun)

2.) Utility/Woods - Remington 870 Shotgun With a Knoxx folding Copstock or Marlin 1894 in .357 to match my S&W 686

3.) Home Defense/SHTF - Home Defense: Remington 870. SHTF: Galil (Israeli AK-47 in .223), WASR-10 (AK in 7.62x39), or one of my many Mosin Nagant's (7.62x54r).

4.) Can't Live without - My Marlin 60 (Present from my parents), or British Lee-Enfield 303 (Inherited from my Grandpa).

I am assuming you are not limiting the arsenal to five, just asking what I'd choose for each of these categories. If it were a five-gun limit, I'd answer differently.

1) Plinking/Fun - CZ 452 American, preferably with a can
2) Utility/Woods - Remington Model 7 in .243
3) Home Defense - Mossberg 500 12 gauge
4) Conceal Carry - S&W 4013 (.40 S&W)
5) One you can't live with out - Remington 700 VSSF in .308

1) Plinking/Fun = Ruger 10/22 with red dot scope (own)
2) Utility/Woods = Mosin Nagant (own)
3a) Home Defense = Beretta 92FS (own)
3b) "For times when society may not be in order" = Bushy M4A3 (own)
4) Conceal Carry = Keltec P3AT (own)
5) One you can't live with out = Bushy M4A3 (own)

Now I see why I haven't felt the compulsion to buy a gun in a while.

Thanks OP! :)
