I used to carry my Dad's .32 nickel plated lemon squeezer with real pearl grips.

Now, it's a safe queen.

Got two. GP100 .327 will be my main squeeze until next summer. If I ever get a 432 or Roger gets with it on the LCR, .32s will be all I carry.

I sometimes carry a Charter Arms (strike 1!), Undercoverette (strike 2!), loaded with 32 S&W long (strike 3!). Am I out yet?
I can't believe you don't fall over dead, attract lightning or draw nefarious evil doers given being so under-gunned and a CA no less!;)

Could be worse I guess - you could be betting your life on a Taurus.

327 Federal Magnum in a Ruger SP101 or Ruger GP100. Just depends on the situation and clothing I will be wearing.

While I don't own a .32 (yet!) I do conceal carry a .38 S&W Harrington & Richardson Safety Hammerless Top Break sometimes.

I have carried a 32 when I walk the dogs in the after hours, but it's a 32-20 Smith.
Like I need anything with a 55# Australian Shepherd and an 80# Doberman.

I used to have a Iver and Johnson 32. I have an H&R 32 right now. H&R is a cool little pistol. I wouldn't pay much for a H&R. If it breaks you will have to find scrap parts and fix the gun yourself.

One good thing about a 32 is you have the first thing you need to win a gun fight, a gun. It really doesn't matter what kind of gun as long as you like it. Everyone would rather have a duty caliber weapon but you have to dance with the girl you brought to the dance. Everyone I know that says I have to have a 45 or whatever doesn't have a gun on their person most of the time. A 22LR beats a 45acp locked up in the dash every time.

I read that during WWII, Winston Churchill asked his police driver and body guard what he was armed with. The reply was a .32 Smith & Wesson. Henceforth, his honor began carrying a Colt 1911 and did so throughout the war and until Colt issue the "Commander" model.

Cannot say if the story is true but it makes for a nice legend.

Thats funny since Churchill used a C96 Mauser in 7.65x25 (32) to make his first kills in battle.

I used to work in a sporting goods store. I carried a Kel-tec P32 because it was easy to hide. Was cleaning it & a customer stated "You don't have a gun unless it is a 45". I asked if he had a 45 on him & he said "No, but I would rather have a pocket full of rocks than a 32". I asked if he had any rocks in his pocket & he said "No". I told him you lose because I always had the 32?

I have a Kahr PM9 for trade on a local gun board.... no bites because I'm looking for a 3" old school pathfinder .22lr AND an old school 6 shot Undercoverette .32 Long. the .32Long would be for my wife because it gives her one more shot than her J frame and the recoil is near nothing by comparison.

I just finished researching S&W Model 30-1. I may be picking one up locally. They seem to have more of a collector than a shooter status. I may just go with a newer magnum and have more cartridge options.

Anyone know why S&W dropped the 632? I would like to buy one but the prices got stupid for used ones. If they ever build it again I'll buy one. Can't understand why they dropped it so soon.

Based upon the few 32 ACP cases I have seen at the range, I would be afraid to use that for any more than a rat gun. I would be against using this caliber to give a woman a false sense of security just because it's cute and doesn't kick much and has an action with springs she can handle.

because the ugly, hard kicking, hard to manipulate gun gets left behind many times.

I dunno. My Wife rocks and rolls our Colt Pocket Hammerless pistols in .32 acp and I'd certainly not want to estimate my chances against her with that gun in a gunfight.

She'd kill me with it I have no doubt. Fairly manageable, she puts 4X in a 4" group in about 1 second and those bullets (hand loads) deliver 200+ FPE and 18+" of penetration on calibrated ballistic gelatine. It gives her a sense of security and I don't think it's a false one. Others certainly have their own opinions and I usually carry 9mm for SD. I also tuck a custom Colt .32 acp in a pocket or carry it Appendix and while there are better choices if push comes to shove that little gun is protection against more than rats.

VooDoo

Ok, I'll admit to carrying a 5.5" SAA clone in 32-20 a few days ago. Only the bottom inch was exposed in a holster below my coat. Loaded with handloads (115gr lrnfp. at average of 966fps) and additional 24 rounds in belt loops.
