And I am dead serious...not being a smart-@ss!

I called them up today so that I can change my FFL3 license over to my new address (yes, I know I suppose to do that BEFORE I move..but didn't). Anyway, the first person I talked to was very nice/polite and said I needed an "amendment form". Great! Sounds easy enough. Then I ask where I can get that form...if it was online or if I had to have it sent to me, she kindly transfers me and the next person I talk to should NOT have been talking to the general public.

This lady must have been retarded...literally. I had to repeat myself several times and when she responded, you could tell that something "just wasn't right about her". I had to slow my speech down as if I was talking to an elementary school kid.

Now, I like the fact that H/C people earn a living for themselves, but being "customer service" is not the position for this person! If I was a paranoid type of person, I'd say that BATFE did this on purpose to make it more difficult for people to find questions out about obtaining a FFL!:what:

I don't think this is unreasonable...I've had easier times talking to customer support people from India!

Sorry about the rant, but this was just ...wow... I mean...wow...

The initial kit they sent me (with the forms and books of laws) included the form to amend my FFL. When I moved I just mailed the form from the kit and of course they sent a whole new kit to my new address with another copy of the form so I'll be fine the next time I move too.

They also have an online document ordering feature where you can order 4473s and anything else any FFL might need (even if C&R licensees don't) including the amended FFL form. I ordered a stack of those yellow Youth Handgun Safey Act notices and a few other forms just after I got my C&R. They send everything promptly and it's free.

I didn't have to talk to anyone...

ATF i wonder where they get these names. You should have told the lady. "hey im going shooting this weekend. I need to know what kind of bourbon i should be drinking while shooting an sks and smoking a cuban stogie."

BATF shieeet for some of us rednecks thats like the dream job come true. Where do i get an application. We can shoot drink and smoke.

"Retards" is more than a bit derogatory.

That's up there with using the "f" word when talking about gay people. Talk like that is OK in the locker room, but not here. Owner's rules.

But, I agree that CS positions need to be staffed by people fluent and competent in english.

As a rule calling or emailing the ATF on anything would best be avoided (I sent them an email and their answer confused me to know end), my advice send them an letter.

Yeah, we don't call people "retards" here, and not just because it's a fake, made-up word that insults a lot of very decent folks.
