I recently got an early production blued CZ 97B used. Slide dated '98, test target is Jan 1999. Finally got it out to the range yesterday. Here's some of the results.

The 5 shots punching out the X prove the gun is extremely accurate. The 5 shots NOT punching out the X prove I need more practice ;)

Gun weights 40 OZ with a magazine, 2 OZ more than my CZ 85 Compact, and has a nice clean 5.0 lbs SA trigger (tested on a real trigger scale). It's about 2 mm narrower than my CZ 85 Compact. Same width as a CZ 75B. Longer, taller, but not wider.

Still has the original springs in it which need to be beefed up. The recoil buffer I put in got torn up and recoil was snappier than other 97s I've shot. It's also showing pretty noticeable primer swipe. Once that's taken care of she should be good for years of use. Despite this it ate every round I threw at it from ball to old Sierra SportMaster flying ashtrays without a hiccup. Not even from the one ProMag that came with it.

I love this gun. It was the gun that 1st turned me on to CZs and I finally have an example just like the on I origionally drooled over years ago to go with my other CZs.

Just noticed I forgot to include the CZ Vzor 52. Ah well, another time :)

I took mine shooting a few days ago - had fun as usual. It also comes from Jan 99.

Nice looking family you have, Snowman. They look very happy together.
Bet you are proud. The 75BSA is nice and I'll look forward to hearing your comments when you get one and compare the SA trigger to the 97B in SA.

Regards,

:) :) :)

3 gun picture

Hello, That picture of the 3 cz's is so cool......those are my 3 favorites I have. I WILL also get an sp-01 when possible.

Take care, Mike Arnold

So far: CZ-75BD 9mm
CZ-75B .40 S&W
CZ-83 .380 ACP
CZ PCR 9mm
CZ RAMI .40 S&W
Next to buy: CZ-97 .45 ACP.
IMHO, CZ's are the best value in firearms. You can spend more money on a gun, but you won't get more gun for the money. :D
