Old WLP vs New WLP

I found some Winchester large pistol primers today! The new package doesn't say that they're for standard or magnum
loads. Do you think they have changed the primers? I use these in my lighter 44 loads and get really good results.
I hope they're the same as before.

Yeah they claim for standard and mag. I had used them. No issues with them.

I've read that they are the same, but I haven't tried the red box ones yet. When I do, I won't trust this to be the case; I'll work up my loads.

I have old WLP in the blue box. Not buying any more Win primers. Had 2000 WSPM defective ones.

WLP work in my 45acp, Bullseye powder & 44 mag. with H110, W296 & Unique.

Same thing for me. After a batch of defective LRP that leaked several years ago and etched up several bolt faces, I quit buying Winchester primers.

I had the same problem with a batch of Remington 9½ primers. Any brand can have a batch of duds now and then.

I've used the two colors of WLP interchangeably, but just 45 auto bullseye loads

I always used CCI primers, until one time, in about 2019 I found Winchester small rifle and large pistol for $24 per thousand. I bought 3,000 of each, (obviously I wish I'd bought more!), and used them up without any issues. Great primers IMO.

From what I understand, they are the same, only the packaging changed. Apparently some folks couldn't get past the need to have a "magnum" primer. I've used them for everything and interchangeably with CCI 350's with no issue.
