Well chaps, which is it? I'll start with my 1918 BSA lee Enfield no.1 mk. III that some of you may be familiar with.

That I shoot:
Winchester 1873, 3rd model,, .32-20
DOM 1885, 2nd year of the .32-20

Still a fun shooter!

Not shooting:
1869/70 Swiss Vetterli, 41RF
A 12 round, bolt action must must have been nice in the 1870s...the 41rim fire was a decent caliber for the time.

Its a La Francaise Modele 1921 -- a single-shot .22 rimfire French military training rifle that looks very much like a Lebel Model 1886.

My father brought it home from the ETO. It was the very-first rifle I ever shot. I was 3. Of course, my father was holding and aiming it, but I pulled the trigger. I still remember the event, but quite dimly.

Oldest: M1868/70 Egyptian Remington Rolling Block in .43 Egyptian. Exact date of manufacture is impossible to tell since the stamps have all been pretty much worn away, but it wouldn't have been later than the early 1870s. I have the dies on order, so once they come in and I fabricate a new front sight (the old one is long gone somewhere in the rifle's life), I'll be shooting it.

Runner up: 1887 Martini-Henry Mk. IV. Shoots great!

I'll try to post some pictures soon (I don't seem to have any on this computer).
