Winchester 1892 made in 1918. It was originally chambered in 44-40 and was re-chambered in 44 magnum in the late 60's. My mom hunted deer with this gun in the early 70's.

I have two Colt Lightning rifles, both made in the late 1800's one was manufactured in 1889, the other 1897. They are both medium frame, .32WCF (32-20) caliber with 26" octagon barrels. FWIW, they are both good shooters, as they have had their barrels relined and the actions tuned. LM

I've got a Golcher lock muzzle loader that appears to have been converted to percussion caps. It's probably from the 1840s. It's strictly a wall hanger.

The oldest gun that could be fired is a South African marked Martini Henry dated 1877. Who knows, it may have been at Rourke's Drift.

The oldest rifle I own is one that my Dad gave me a year or two ago. He bought it brand new in 1935 or 1936 when he was in his mid-teens. (He's now 93.)

It's a Stevens Buckhorn in .22 caliber. I love holding that gun. :) Still works good and the bore is great, but the stock has plenty of scratches.

This is an old Ithica side by side that I picked up from the original owner several years ago. Or should I say the wife of the original owner. He had passed away several years earlier and she has had it setting in the attic since he last used it. As far as I can tell it is from the 1914 era and has Damascus barrels on it. definitely a gun that has seen it's fair share of field use. It even has a slight bulge in the left barrel to prove it.

I have a 1917 Lee Enfield No. 1 Mk. 3. The idiot that owned it before me sporterized it, so I ordered a replacement forend and nose cap to bring it back to it's original configuration. I like the all wood look of old military rifles.

I'll add my 6 year old 39a when I started competitive shooting. Yup, I get it out and keep it warmed up time to time. Accuracy is darn good at 100m with Aquila Match Rifle, sighting in off sandbags on a calm afternoon.

Is older better?

I think my oldest is the 1903 Springfield. Not sure of the year but it has the Pederson slot in the receiver. I think its older that the K-31 and the k98 Mauser.

I have my grandpa's Winchester 1886 45/70 from 1899. I don't know what it was originally, but the barrel and magazine tube have been replaced. I'd love to know its history.

A Remington #2 rolling block in 32 rim fire. Three digit serial# Probably made shortly after the civil war. Wish I could find ammo.
