I picked up at a LGS today a stripped new Omni lower. Got it for 30 bucks. I am getting a SBR stamp and when I change my one AR to SBR I will have a full upper to snap onto something. So I decided to make another lower and saw this one. Its not the metal infused one but the all poly. Not sure if I should sell if for a profit and buy a PSA lower or keep it and make the gun. Any ideas?

Well, I'll tell you what I did...and that will give you my opinion.

I ended up with an Omni 22lr AR. The upper was not to spec and caused misfeeds. The lower Pins went from WAY too tight to WAY too loose in only 20 disassembles or so.

I reassembled the rifle in a PSA stripped upper and Lower, and tossed the old parts in the "offload to a panic buyer next election" box.

If you can get a profit on it, go for it. If you build a rifle on it, plan on replacing it later.

Having snapped the back end of a coworkers poly ( plastic ) lower off in my hand I wouldnt own one on a bet.

I actually like some poly lowers. I have 3.6 right now.

Not that one however.

If you can sell it for a profit, I would.

i have one with the metal inserts and put it on a extra upper after about 200 rounds it is still working, i know thats not alot but i wanted a light house defense ar and it fits the bill. i keep it hanging on a coat rack with a light jacket hanging over the barrel hiding it completly. i think i paid 109.00 for the complete lower it last year. eastbank.

Some are OK, some aren't. I have no experience with the ATI lower, but my Ares works fine. I used it for an ultralight build, the goal being under $500 and under 5 lbs. Came in at 4.6 lbs and just $32 over budget (got the Trijicon MS03 free):

Having said that, while he flex in the receiver extension housing is acceptable with a shoulder behind it and a light recoiling cartridge, I wouldn't use them for a centerfire pistol build, or a big bore.
