Update ...
Just heard from my aunt. My uncle has finished three chemo treatments and will wait 21 days for more. It gives his body time to recover from the bad stuff and for the good to work. Next week he is headed to Stanford Medical Center for a second opinion from doctors there. Stanford is considered the place to go for this sort of thing. My uncle feels good at this point and has had no after affects (thus far) from the chemo. He has a good attitude, despite the low survival rate of this type of cancer: 20%, my aunt tells me. Prognosis is six months without treatment, a year and a half with. My uncle's attitude is to expect to be among the 20% who survive!
My aunt closed her note with: "Keep your prayers going, please. We are in the hands of a loving Lord. That is the best place we could possibly be."
