I have a budget of $300 to $350 to buy a 9mm or a 40 that will serve as both a duty weapon (Security) and CCW. I don't mind buying a used weapon if it's necessary. I'd prefer high capacity. I'm small framed so CCW would probably have to be IWB. I love the size and feel of the Makarov, but unfortunately 9x18 is not an approved caliber. We're required to carry JHP so anything that's not known to be reliable with it is out of the question. What would you recommend?

Ditto the PCR, but if that is your TOTAL budget for sidearm, holster, etc, I might actually suggest the used SiG P6 pistols, which are the best deal going in a used pistol right now, if you can find one, even though it is not a "high capacity" pistol.
If you can find a good used CZ in your neighborhood, go for it, all magazines marked Compact will work in the Compact, PCR, and P01.

That Sig P-6 (virtually a 225) has a LONG trigger reach coupled with a HARD pull.

Just so you know !

i used to have problems hiding subcompact pistols, but once i spent $35 on a used good quality leather holster, i can now hide a full sized SP-01 on my person with no problems.

that said, try to budget around 50 for a used holster.

given about 300 for a used pistol, most anything that fits your hand will do. you could call cdnninvestments.com and see what they have for around 300. used police trade ins are a good start, like the glock 23 compact 40 can be had for 320ish. otherwise, some rugers might work, but last time i checked some out they were pretty bulky.

$300-350 won't buy a used XD (or I'd have one:p)

There is a CZ-75b for sale on the .US site for $375 (not PCR)

A Sig p6, bersa thunder 9, used glock, or a kel tec pf9 would all fit your budget and hopefully your requirements. GL!

Considering it is a handgun to be used in a work enviroment, the price range is unreasonable. Is this firearm bveing authorized by the employer? What are his standards. If you are required to furnish leather, magazine carriers and additional magazines, $350.00 is NOT going to cut it. At best, for $350 you could find a used 6906, 5906 or 4006. Only the 6906 is usable as a concealed carry firearm. Either up the price considered or rethink the career.

i would go with a xd service model, if i could find one used for that price range, also another great option woudl be a factory refurb glock, and i recommend the model 19.

as far as holster's for ccw, IWB i suggest you look into raven concealment, as well as what blade tech has to offer.

Id go with a 3rd gen S&W if you like a heavy duty gun. Glocks work but I dont know if ill ever go back to plastic for duty/CCW after owning this baby. I paid $250 for mine. Accurate, reliable, and built like a tank.

In that price range, it would be hard to find a used Glock or XD in decent condition. I would take a look at some Ruger 9mm's.

Kahr 9mm, SIG P-6, S&W 3913 or 6906, maybe a G-26 but it would be more than $350.

Used is the way to go. Look for Glock police trade ins in 9mm. They can be had for $350 or a tad more all over the place. Glocks are very reliable weapons, and totally simple to operate . . . just point and shoot . . . no safety levers required to operate that could get you killed under stress if you forgot.

Folks with small hands and such have no problems with the grip size of the Glock 9mm and .40S&W caliber pistols.

The full-size M17 might be a tad hard for a small person to conceal but the mid-sized M19 shoots like it THINKS it has the longer barrel, and it would be a great all-around choice for both your needs.

If you are lucky, you might find a G19 with a good set of night sights too!

The XDs are fine pistols but they are still relatively new and I don't think you'll find as good of used prices on them. However, this would also be a fine choice.

However, the Glock is respected by cops, average citizens AND the bad guys! Most everyone knows they are professional weapons and you'd command more respect instantly by many folks with a Glock on your belt. It's just the way it is.
