can a skinheaded fat savage and a fat hippy walk into a stop-and-rob, one of them open carrying, and have the cashier complain about how she has to work on such a nice hot day when she'd rather be at the range.

if i ever start talking about moving to the lower 48, slap me upside the head, okay?

Spiff after I dropped ya off I went into Title Wave and also the Holiday Mini Mart..

Nobody paid attention to me! I had my beautiful hi power on and nobody cared....I wanted to put a T Shirt on saying "Im carrying a Gun, Look, Look" but it wouldnt have made no difference. I wanted to scream, look I am carrying a gun, look at me look at me Im a responsible citizen with a gun, run out and vote to repeal gun laws look at me, look at me LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK AAAAAAAAAAT MMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE...

Nobody cared:( :( :(

I even had my hair down so I looked even grungier...

Im totally depressed..I was ready to make a statement! I was ready to start a thread "Looked at Askance While Open Carrying" or even "Anchorage PD admires my Gun While I am Opne Carrying in Liberal Bookstore", but no one cared..hell maybe they would have talked strongly to me and my psyche would have gooten hurt and I could have asked for money to help prosecute a lawsuit!

Darn, if I cant cause a ruckus due to carrying a gun, whats the point...might as well go back to the Seecamp in the back pocket...

PS...carrying that thing around reminded me of what a pain in the ass carrying a gun in a belt holster is....

Wild......maybe I'm losing it but weren't you the one who was saying how carrying open is a bad idea?? LOL

Of course its bad! People do it to create a ruckus, just like me! :)

But nobody paid attention! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah...I wanted a feelsorryformebecasueeveryonepicsonmebecauseicarryagunopenlythreadtoo!!!!

Otherwise whats the point

Sounds cool....

...But I have no desire to move to Alaska. I like living in a county with nearly three times as many people as Wyoming, yet still manages to avoid looking crowded. I like living in an area where polar bears aren't going into my trash. Etc. etc. etc.

Wild, you did just give some kid crap for needlessly carrying open, and now, well, you know. I'd go way out on a limb and guess that maybe a couple frosty ones were involved. If not, I'm wrong and I'll apologize. There is a little consistency gap here. Ain't judging, I make plenty of my own mistakes, but I'm pretty good about 'fessing up to them.

The only downside is the inventory at local gun stores tends to be pretty sparse and prices tend to be high. But it's a good excuse to look through them every week or so :D

Actually, between us, Gun Runners and Great Northern, Im pretty impressed with the variety of inventory (rivals some big shoops I have been too) and of course, at least we beat Wally World on pricing...

Dude, You should be ashamed of yourself. Open carry is the same as a push-up bra:

Hey- Look at what I got!

Though that's not really a bad thing, push up bras, I mean.

Last summer I was standing in the lobby of the Hotel Captain Cook in Anchorage, which some feel is the city's finest hotel. Two men walked in burdened with fishing gear, each with a slung pump shotgun. The only comment was from a bellman offering them help with their "luggage"

Whos more likely to respond to a call if your open carrying? The troopers or the local pd? Whichever it is, Id ask them first, then Id ask the other guys just to see how different the answers were :).
