Perhaps I'm seeing things, but does it seem as though there is a mad rush of folks selling pre ban ARs?

The import Pre ban prices are remaining stable, but ARs prices are getting lower. I've looked here and over at AR15.com and there definitely seems to be a lot of folks selling in anticipation of the bill sunsetting and losing all of the pre ban value.

And no..this isnt' some thread about a super sale on pre bans! :D

Re: ammo, plenty of .223 options around, Federal XM193 in LC cases, Wolf Polymer coated, Winchester Q....

Re: pre-bans, still inflated around here, and will be since this state has a ban that will not expire. (Kerry Country  )

I have not seen any hint of any advance marketing plans by gun or magazine manufacturers.

Aren't those companies going to do or change something when the law sunsets?

Introduce new models with "evil' features? Higher magazine capacities? Takes time to ramp those things up...

Thats why I'm in a holding pattern waiting for the ban to sunset.

Then I'll be shopping for alot of previously pre-banned stuff.;)

10-20 year old AR-15s are worth $600 as far as I'm concerned. 0-10 year old AR-15s without evil features are worth $500. New AR-15s with evil features are worth $750. Used Glock pre-bans are worth $12, new are $17. These prices only apply if you are patient.

I'm holding out on buying a new rifle for that very reason.

I'd really like a new Colt rifle. Or new to me at any rate.

No pre ban, but I traded my PM9 for post ban Bushmaster dissapator today.

If all goes well that bad boy will be wearing a long type flash supressor soon!

Today's check of AR15.com revealed 10 Pre Ban ARs for sale on the first page alone. I didn't bother to count the numerous other pages.

I'm holding out on buying an AR to see what happens with the AWB. Today I was at a gun show and a dealer had a bunch of RRA AR's, two of them were LEO models (collapsible stock, flash hider, bayo lug). I told him if it weren't for the ban I'd buy one right then, he said check back in a few months...

If the ban does sunset I would prefer an AR with the LEO/Gov only markings for the novelty of it.:neener:

Not that I want it to happen, but imagine how those folks who sold their pre-bans would feel if the AWB was renewed? :uhoh:

I think an animation of a donkey kicking would be appropriate, for they would feel like a jack... :D

Any idea what'll happen to the prices of HK91s & HK93s? Not that I want to sell, just curious. Will HK9xs ever be imported again?
Remember, the 1989 import ban is permanent without legislation to remove it. (i.e. No evil features on a rifle with more than 10 imported parts, also known as 922(r) ) So these rifles cannot be imported without US manufacturing assistance providing final assembly with domestic parts.

Heck, HK doesn't even make them anymore from what I understand, just like FN no longer makes FALs. I guess the short answer to your question is "no".
