Pre ban Olympic Arms AR worth?

I am new to the whole AR world. Can anybody tell me what a pre-ban Olympic Arms AR15 with the SGW stopsign markings, A2 setup, with non-removable carrying handle, and Wilson H-bar 20" pre-ban barrel (new in 2003) w/ bayo lug is approximately worth?

Is the possibility of the pending sunset changing prices at all?

Depending on condition I'd say about $1000-$1100. The value of the upper is no different than that of a post ban. The only real value lies in the current status of the lower.

I personally wouldn't purchase a pre ban unless it was a super deal. A post ban Bushmaster in the same configuration would run about $800. A post ban Oly PCR rifle would run you $100 or so less. You stand the chance of losing about $300 or more in value once the ban sunsets.

Locally, I've seen pre-ban Colts going for $1200 and Colts hold their value much better than Oly. I also suspect whatever value the pre-ban status adds is going to disappear in September.

I bought a pre-ban SGW rifle about a year or so ago for $1100.
I sent the lower reciever in and they made me a new one with my serial number on it.
